Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

Does anyone have a natural or otc remedy for a "potential" stomach ulcer? I have amoxicillin but I havent gotten to that point yet. Thank you
Salt, taken with water. Here's why:
The stomach lining, which keeps stomach acid from harming the stomach and causing an ulcer, is made largely of sodium bicarbonate. An ulcer means you are not making enough sodium bicarbonate, usually because of not enough sodium.
Salt gives you sodium. Worth noting that salt needs water to be digested optimally. Here's an article from a health guy. (His English is not so good, maybe his 4th language or so, but it makes sense.) https://darkovelcek.wordpress.com/2016/07/19/stomach-ulcer/
I'm sure you'll feel better soon!
no experience with this, but did they search for natural help
Cabbage Juice: A traditional remedy rich in vitamin C and glutamine, some studies suggest that drinking fresh cabbage juice daily can significantly speed up ulcer healing.
Honey: Raw honey, particularly Manuka honey, has antimicrobial properties that may help fight H. pylori and soothe the stomach lining.
Garlic: Known for its antibacterial effects, consuming garlic (raw or in extract form) may inhibit the growth of ulcer-causing bacteria.
if you eat any yogurt or drink, Kiefer, make sure it is two hours away from taking the amoxicillin because the probiotics could interfere with the antibiotic work of the medicine.
Hope you get well. See you soon.
Thank you
welcome, for garlic, not too much if you use some of it, like a small clove,, after peeling a small piece, gently crushed by pressing it with a fork, and let’s sit for 10 minutes and then the enzyme alliinase converts alliin into allicin which gets the beneficial compound
