I don't think that there is a single program of any size that is bug free. That shows you that even when people have good intentions, computers never work as expected. Now think of all the processes that run on a typical computer. Could one of them be compromised? What if $billions were involved? Would it be impossible?
The fewer steps that are involved in the counting process the fewer possibilities there are to rig the results.
The obvious way to prove conclusively that computers are not influencing the results is to not use a computer!
Not to mention, weren't the election officials fed the lie that they can't connect to the Internet so they could spew it out at us? I doubt that many of them would know how to make sure the modems are shut off without explicit written instructions, which we've never seen.
Modding voting machines so you can control the most powerful country in the world
Computers have multiple levels of abstraction all the way from the hardware layer, to the software layer, over the network (and all other computers connected to that network), and every level is exploitable with the right knowhow. Modern consoles have been exploited both through hardware and software, it is not even a little stretch to say election machines have too.
Why not remove it. It is just an addon unit .... right ...? It should not take much .... Except, how about internet through electricity cable?
If I can do such at home, it should not be a mars journey planning project to achieve such in a copy machine.
This one gets it.
Exactly so. Never trust a computer!

Airgap the machines already.

Which has the larger incentives?:

I’ll rock a purple stained finger all day long. One day voting, voter ID required and a purple finger…make it so President Trump
an now you know why we went after Maduro.
We all knew this the day after the elections
