Ask Grok yourself...
https://freedom.gov/ is a recently launched (or in the process of launching) U.S. government website hosted by the U.S. State Department under the current administration (often referred to in reports as the Trump administration initiatives).
Its primary stated purpose is to promote and protect digital freedom and freedom of expression globally, framed as a tool to counter government censorship abroad
The domain was registered on January 12, 2026, via the official .gov registry (get.gov), confirming it's an official U.S. government site (only verified U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government entities can register .gov domains).
Ok, now do one for the sites banned in the U.S. That's half joking, it's a huge positive step. I steer heavily libertarian when it comes to censorship, so I'd want things like sharing digital media (aka torrents or pirating) to at least be a civil infraction instead of a criminal one. Aside from that, we also need to push back against censorship at the state level. Censorship is ultimately ineffective, any way.
Why does nobody ask for sources anymore? Scrolling through all the X replies and people really do just believe whatever they want to hear. It makes me so sad to see it
Nobody asking for a source or clarification. Why's everyone so gullible??
Source? Anytime I see something pushed with an AI photo as the cover, I immediately assume its baseless and false. Especially when theres no source along with it
This is in preparation of future updates on Muslim rape/grooming gangs and also Epstein drops that will incriminate and embarrass European governments. Great move.
For what it's worth...I think this is a troll level psy-op kind of move. The message is clear: we can do this if we want to, and we're aware of the international firestorm that would ensue if we did. BUT WE CAN. And if we do, you're extra fucked. So maybe you want to reconsider your position...
It is pretty epic, its why I doubted it without a source. Seems like a ridiculously bold move, but its completely defensible from a freedom perspective
