This is just not true. You might not remember it, but 0bama had "the Former Presidents Act" created in 2013. It changed he 10yr USSS protection former presidents received to lifetime. So everyone from W to Biden will have lifetime USSS protection. Nice planning job by old Zero...
I don't believe that means they can fly US Gov planes, so they may fly commercial or (more likely) they will be on private planes from their associates. I do know Jimmy Carter used to fly on Delta - I was on one of his flights once.
I have seen multiple videos where they did not have SS protection and a couple where they boarded a regular commercial plane. Both of them theoretically have way more money than required to routinely fly private or at least bumm a friend’s private jet.
