That is a good distinct possibility. But don't discount the idea that China is a party to that same Cabal system. The CCP is totally evil through and through - and that includes Xi. They have been one of the biggest supporters of Iran and their insane reign of terror. Iran is a proxy for China. But even China can't really control them, but they are perfectly willing to use them just the same. They have the same common enemy and right now that is Trump. The difference is in their approach. China prefers to use more covert action to try and stay in the shadows all while pulling the strings.
Iran is lashing out at everyone they can hit. It's what despotic regimes do when they think they are going down. As a final act of desperation they try and take as many with them as they can.
I'm not confident that we can say that this is 'what they do'. I think more normally, when a despotic regime goes down, they try to flee the situation and save their own skins.
Look at people like Hitler and Mussolini of recent times - Hitler especially. Often they will burn the house down rather than give in. Yes, some can try to find an exit if they are able whether that is by their own death or physically extracting themselves leaving a lot of suffering in their wake. Before they exercise an exit strategy, it is often associated with almost utter destruction of the countries and people forced to live under them. When faced with what they perceive as a no way out situation, they will take others down with them in a final blaze of glory. Look at some of the Roman emperors for example - the madman Nero comes to mind. He left Rome in a state of financial and political ruin before he committed suicide rather than be taken, or worse, murdered. Caligula is another example.
There were a few others as well. Even Herod the Great left orders that upon his death hundreds, if not thousands, were ordered to be killed so that there would be mourning at his funeral throughout the land of Israel. He didn't want celebrations in the streets at the news of his death. Thankfully those orders were not carried out. These stories have been repeated across time and location throughout history and it is not unusual for leaders that have seized ultimate centralized power that lies in the hands of a single person. There is no accountability or system of checks and balances to their power. They all seem to share a narcissistic psychopathic type personality and they rule by fear because they lack any other legitimacy to their rule. The Islamic regime is simply another example of authoritarian rule faced with its own demise.

Can you think of other examples of this?
