There was no reason for England and France to fight Germany other than Churchill wanted to crush the Germans.

The game of chicken between Hitler and Stalin had absolutely nothing to do with the common English person.

Hitler viewed England as a fellow Germanic nation because of their Anglo-Saxon heritage.
