My son was a merchant marine for 8 years. He traveled the world and visited many different countries including several 3rd world countries. His experience was that Mumbai was BY FAR the filthiest place on the planet. People just stop and defecate in the street. Every time they left port they literally had to hose down the engine room it was so disgusting.

That's like someone coming over and seeing the homeless encampments in LA and saying all of the US is full of poor, disgusting homeless people.
India is far worse than that.
