They are dangerous. One surfaced right near one of our carriers a few years ago. We have sunk several of them, but we are still on the hunt. They tried to go after the Lincoln.
Are they hard to hear with all the shipping traffic?
They run on battery power and move slowly. So not much prop noise, etc. But sound travels far under water, so we are probably picking up a lot of that commercial and some military traffic.
