Look up the bond fraud done by town boards and schools. This is their way of jacking up taxes without people complaining. Nobody says anything because their "houses are going up". If the corrupt politicians raised taxes they'd be voted out. Locally, the state funded a portion of school and town hall renovations (still your taxes) while the rest fell on the town. People at it up because they didn't have to pay for all of it and it was for the kids! It's like being able to buy a Ferrari for half off. It's a great deal, but if you can't afford the remaining $250k, you'll go broke. They want it all. You'll own nothing and be happy.

I own some land in Michigan and they tried tripling my taxes. I disputed it heavily and won. It makes me very sad to see how far Michigan has failed the residents. Corrupt doesn't even begin to describe it. My democrat Mother said she is voting Republican so there is hope .... I hope.
I collected petitions to get an end Michigan property tax initiative onto the 2024 ballots. Getting signatures was like pulling teeth. Why don't people want to vote for their own interests?
The effort seemed rushed and fizzled. I hope they learn and regroup.
