They were never really ever MAGA. They were/are purposed with drawing attention and then sewing division.
Many are weak-minded or weak-willed and ultimately end up avoiding conflict by going along with those around them. Kind of like peer pressure. They are followers, not leaders, and follow whoever is loudest around them.
