Brightline's high-speed rail projects costs: the Florida extension (Miami-Orlando) cost approximately $5 billion to complete in 2023. It is actually completed and up and reunning.
If the High Speed Rail carries 5,500 passengers per day, or 2 Million passengers per year... at $126 Billion to complete... it will cost an average of $6,300 per passenger over the first 10-years of operation just to pay back the construction cost.
I heard it was going to cost $400 per person round trip to LA. You know Dems would create a rule that lower income person would ride WAY less than that. Just like they did for PG&E, Xfinity WiFi and cable, Obama Phone etc
Boondoggle is a weird way of saying cash cow.
Now go milk more voters out of money!
Cali needs to shut this project down, leave the holes in the ground, pretty up the work sites and walk away. It is a cute way to fleece money from taxpayers. Just shut it down and save some money. Heck, if transportation is needed I believe there are highways, interstates, and busses that can be utilized. Heck, even free plane tickets would be cheaper.
