Japan has a bit of a problem. Their constitution. It only allows their military to be used in completely defensive operations - a self defense force. Takaichi is trying to get some of the language in their constitution changed to allow Japan first strike defense capacity now that she holds a super majority in the lower house. Remember, Japan has a had a very strict antiwar passive stance since the end of WW2. That has been a consistent policy for decades. The fact that the Japanese public are onboard with Japan's rearming and strengthening their military is a big move for them. They will be vital for the US if things decide to kick off with China or Russia.
So in the case of Japan, I have to give them a bit of a pass here. It is too soon for them and they have made great progress. Besides, they need to hold down the fort in the Pacific to keep China in check while the US has pulled some of our own naval forces out of the area to be in the ME. We still have a Nimitz class carrier along with its strike group there at Yokosuka. China would love nothing better than to have more assets pulled out of the region.
Trump mentioned Japan but also he doesn't seem to be as upset with Japan like he is the others. Takaichi had a chance to speak with Trump directly and Japan has valid reasons for not getting directly involved with forces. Their navy is more geared for short distance island operations versus blue water combat. Takaichi offered conditional and non-combat forms of assistance to Trump regarding the conflict in the Gulf, but ruled out sending Japanese naval forces during active hostilities due to the constitutional legal constraints. She emphasized Japan's willingness to contribute after a ceasefire, such as through minesweeping operations or joining an international coalition to ensure safe passage in the Strait. She informed Trump about the constraints currently of Japan’s war-renouncing constitution as a barrier to direct military involvement. So, Takaichi is not weaseling out here like the others who really don't have an excuse other than they suck.
That is true. So Korea also does not have the military capability to engage their forces globally. Like Japan, their military is more geared towards self defense. The only Asian country that really has forces capable of foreign engagement is China. Reading in between the lines Trump possibly is calling out China without mentioning them specifically. He knows what China has been up to with their two faced double dealing.
Trump knows these smaller Asian countries can't really engage militarily. He is making a broader point here. Also, it puts these nations on notice that there needs to be more collective involvement in securing these vital energy supply chains. It is a major wakeup call for those taking it all for granted. This war demonstrates how easily it all can be shut down. Don't take Trump literally, but take him seriously.
Screw every one of those Countries - thy can protect theirselves

Hard to fault South Korea, as well. NK can level Seoul within minutes, given it's location and the amount of artillery pointed at it.

As a nation we need some 'me' time. And a moratorium on immigration... Forever.
Something to think about.
Australia is not sovereign, I just got laughed at on social media on how Trump is exposing Australia’s lack of sovereignty.
