Iran I read somewhere a few years back would aim to take out Panama Canal in the event of being attacked by U.S.
In order to take out canal, the Iranians would target and drain Lake Gatau. Without the water supply to raise the locks, the would be worthless.
Iran started sending a military presence to the canal under Biden.
