We need to do better when it comes to screening people for a Presidential Pardon. Trump gets the blame for pardoning him, but in reality a sitting POTUS never sees the full dosier on the crimes committed or any anylsis regarding the criminal's potential to commit future crimes.
And we need to decide better I'm how the legal system at large views financial.crikes like this. There's a lot of judges, lawyers, and politicians who view financial crimes as being victimless, which is bullshit. There is always a victim. It victims didn't exist as a legal definition, than crimes wouldn't exist, either.
The problem is that the 37 year conviction (that was commuted) was for the Ponzi scheme. How does the crime that is being addressed not come up in that process?
