People are upset that she can sue a cruise line, or that you can sue a bar for over-serving alcohol to an obviously intoxicated person... who then gets injured.
Keep in mind that, after a few drinks, you aren't thinking rationally. If you've had 10 or 12 tequila shots, you definitely aren't thinking clearly. So making an impaired choice to have a 13th or a 14th shot is not something that you can really take responsibility for. The bartender (or ship crew) is supposed to be the sober, responsible one. They don't serve if you are already way over-intoxicated.
She had a right to sue them for negligence. Cruise lines have a duty of care to maintain safe conditions. Continuing to provide drinks to an over-intoxicated person is negligence.
Apply the same to our judicial system please. Allowing some violent criminals to walk after their 34 offenses so they can murder another is negligence also and those judges need to be sued into bankruptcy. I got it.
Why was she awarded anything? Unbelievable, to me, and she probably should have gotten bupkiss (nothing). People have to learn to be responsible for their actions-not always suing someone for their bad actions-thinking they actually have a lawsuit. And, no Trump was much different. He was gone after by State Attorneys who thought he should have been charged in criminal cases. When he shouldn't have been.
Have you heard about in NYC the illegal parking tenant got a ticket for parking in a stall illegally and when he tried to leave, slammed into a building and suing the building owner for damaging his car?
No, I haven't. You certainly find the information that seems to be very relevant to what is going on. God bless you, keep sniffing out the information.
In many places, that is the law of te land and why bartenders are required to stop serving obviously impared customers. Also, I knew a girl who chugged a 16 oz glass of home distilled booze and died in less than 2 days.
She's lucky that's all that happened. Women disappear off those cruise ships all the time. Rumor has it the crews are involved in trafficking. If she was that drunk she had an angel on her shoulder because she could easily have been taken. Why are these silly girls so irresponsible with their safety?
two parasites.
Definitely.

Yes. I just thought it is very relevant here.

It's called idiotic. Apply the same theory to judges and we can have a lot less activist judges.
I would have no problem with that.

Thinking the same thing about overboard and gone.
"...she is a nurse..."
🙄
Oh yes. I saw that and thought, how can she help anyone when she is that stupid? Another one of those death care specialist.
