It's not a coincidence at all. Watching OANN tonight they pointed out that the Washington Hilton has the biggest ballroom (so far anyway) in DC, and all of the big events like this are done there. They don't really have a choice (again - yet).
When that ballroom at the WH opens things will immediately change. No more unsafe high-profile events downtown.
Good thing Trump is building that Big Beautiful Ballroom!!

I'd forgotten that. One of the great adlibs in presidential speeches. In our office, our boss pulled staff names out of a hat to give his balcony ticket to for special events. I won the king of Spain and Reagan's speech after the assassination attempt. Memorable for me.
