Israel is the only country that could have worked with Trump the way they did to take out the Iranian regime and use Hormuz to squeeze the puppet masters in City of London.
Israel might not share the same end goals as US, but if they can be used as we have so far, to achieve our end goals, I think its fair to call that an "ally".
And regardless of how you look at Israel, compared to NATO they are definitely better ally than any NATO country.
What about all the money that was sent to Israel over the years? I would say Iran war wouldn't have been possible without those funds to build up Israeli military, so again that is an alliance.
