Ascension Day used to be a public holiday in South Africa, and it was widely observed and celebrated, especially in Christian communities.... 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Pre-1994: Ascension Day was an official public holiday dating back to the Union of South Africa (from 1910 onward). It was part of the traditional calendar of Christian holidays, alongside Good Friday, Easter Monday, and others. Many people had the day off, and it was a day for religious observance, family time, or rest.
1994 onward: After the end of apartheid, the Public Holidays Act (Act No. 36 of 1994) rationalised the list of public holidays to 12. Ascension Day was removed to create a more inclusive, secular-leaning calendar that reduced the number of explicitly Christian observances. Easter Monday was renamed Family Day (though many still call it Easter Monday)
As you can see the ANC Commies have changed it jusst as they change everything that was once 'White Heritage'...Provinces, towns, roads, etc etc Approximately 2,000–5,000+ name changes overall since 1994....🙄🤔
