The legal system, regarding IP, has been compromised for DECADES.
This is not JUST in the US - it's everywhere. Judges won't hear the cases or in most cases, the Chinese don't take other countries seriously - and they just ignore it all...
Meanwhile...companies like Stihl - renowned for their quality chainsaws and other quality tools - have to sit there and take it while retailers like Amazon sell bolt-for-bolt EXACT replicas of their big $5,000 chainsaws for $395. You can literally exchange any part on one and put it on the other and it works.
Those that control international law and even international postal rates do not care about the US, IP and especially not YOU.
The Chinese pride themselves on their ability to COPY things...They have very few actual "from scratch" innovations these days. But you want a perfect replica of the Mona Lisa? Rembrandt? Vermeer? Pfft...There are ENTIRE TOWNS that paint those things and nothing else.
China doesn't make anything that they didn't steal from someone else. Period. They have no "from scratch" innovations - ever. But remember one thing. They may be able to copy something, but it will always be made with inferior, substandard, even toxic and harmful materials. Their copies are crap! Buyer beware. You get what you pay for. You buy cheap, you get cheap. Consumers need to demand better.
What is even worse is that they knowingly harm others and don't give a crap as long as they make money. That is the mentality we are dealing with. Money is their god.
Mystery zombie meat fried in gutter oil. Yum. Society of mutual harm for money. The Cultural Revolution destroyed all morals and ethics of a rich and proud Chinese culture once admired by many. Modern China: can't eat the food, drink the water, or even breath the air. Pure poison for profit.
You can't buy cheap goods from China and simultaneously have a problem with IP theft. That's why they are so cheap. You're the enabler.
You can't allow uncertified products into your country and then complain about IP theft. That's why they are so cheap. You're the enabler.
Stop allowing your money to go to these places.
Start making sure your representative in Government knows how you feel about this important issue.
I buy American every chance I get and I will only purchase items from China that are not produced by American suppliers. Take a second to look. It may be more expensive at the till but I guarantee you buying American is cheaper for your community and country in the long run.
Additive Manufacturing Technologies in Austin secured the final Sheffield University license for vapor-smoothing patents — a difficult SLS post-processing technology that uses pressure, vacuum, and alcohol condensate to collapse surface peaks into valleys, sealing and refining sintered parts. After years of brutal R&D (yields rarely exceeded 75 percent even after hard-won iteration), AMT brought the process to commercial maturity.
Weeks later at Rapid + TCT, Chinese firm JUEL3DVapor appeared with near-identical clone machines at undercut pricing, quoting AMT's own site to harvest search equity. A dentist fronts the import operation; real control likely lies with state-adjacent capital. This is the DJI playbook (drones) and Bambu Lab playbook (desktop FDM printers) now hitting SLS post-processing: let Western innovators shoulder loss-making R&D and market education, then clone the proven tech with unlimited state backing and outlast any private competitor. Western investors won't fund the fight because they know the arithmetic. The money that should go to marketing and iteration flows to lawyers instead. America invented the underlying architecture, McKinsey convinced us to offshore it, and now China harvests every proven market we create. Without DOD air cover and ITAR protection, we cannot outrun this cycle.
Disgusting. Chyna do to products and IP what isreal does to property and leasing.
Both have unlimited, interest free access to “money”. It a completely skewed and biased system where it’s almost impossible to compete.
The problem is....

Yes... they are clever, but really not very smart.
Prime example: Cooking food in Gutter Oil... Whatever trash truck hydraulic, automotive drip that makes it off the road...
Now THAT'S nasty!
Not to mention eating cats/dogs... you gotta be seriously sick and/or hungry to do that...

We're not too far behind in principle these days it seems - compared to when we were growing up...
But we are still reasonably safe compared to China. At least there are choices. China, not so much.
Lot of hypocritical behavior.

Almost? Already too familiar.
