The Nimitz was scheduled to return to Norfolk for decommissioning, but it has had its deployment extended to be in the Caribbean with SOUTHCOM to maintain the 11 carrier requirement. Decommissioning is scheduled for March 2027 and it will be replaced by the 2nd Ford class carrier USS John F Kennedy in March of next year. The Kennedy is currently undergoing sea trials, so it's on the water. Let's hope they fixed some of the issues that plagued the Ford with its recent extended deployment.

My cousin is going to be pissed big time when he hears this. He served on the USS Nimitz and he truly hate President Trump. I feel like he is one of the 4-6% who won't be saved as he's a numbskull and won't listen to reason, even when it's all facts and the truth.
