This makes me wonder what kind of ladies you've met in your life. Trust me -- the cycle only exacerbates what is already there.
Women who have gentle personalities stay that way during their cycle. Women who have a nasty streak just get worse during their cycle. I went to an all girl high school so I am familiar with being in an all female atmosphere.
I've noted during my life (and my daughter has also commented on this) that men (in general) will put up with the most demanding women if they think she is "hot". If you want less monthly drama in your life -- I'd advise you to make better choices in your companions. Less daily drama will guarantee you won't have monthly explosions.
The screeching banshee on her cycle is really a stereotype and it's a little unfair.
In college, I used to belong to a coed service organization and the brothers would occasionally do stupid things. Whenever one of the girls would protest about something one of them did -- nine times out of ten -- one of the guys would say, "she must be on her cycle." This remark was always stated with a chuckle and the rest of them would laugh.
The thing is -- women do have legitimate concerns about things. This "screaming banshee on her cycle" stereotype tends to diminish this fact.
I bring this up only because unless this stereotype is seen for what it is -- it diminishes the ability for all women to express themselves and be taken seriously.
Not all women act like lunatics once a month. Most don't. The ones that do -- well generally speaking, they are usually hell on wheels the rest of the month anyway.
I'm sorry about the lecture but this is one of the few points of "feminism" I do think is important to assert for obvious reasons. This kind of thing is actually what "feminism" is about and not the nonsense the blue haired freaks of this generation would have you believe.
Thank you for the opportunity to explain to a younger generation a key point that women in the 70's felt was important. It has unfortunately been lost amid the insanity that this present generation of women have adopted.

However, it was a nice try at belittling me but missed the mark considerably. 1 in 4? Really? Please submit the reputable source from which, you obtained that statistic! I'm always open to debate. Or is it that of every 4 companions you happen to choose only 1 is actually sane? The world of women can't be held responsible for your personal (and perhaps questionable choices) young man!
