I think we’re on the same boat here, I’d just previously looked at a different potential causative agent. Your DDT/LA claim was new to me. I then stated “perhaps both were involved”, precisely because the LA especially could be tied to the paralysis. The feces may have been a vehicle for the other poisons.
Point was, for the OP who didn’t re-engage, “the causative agent wasn’t invisible Hitlers floating around in the air”, but some collection of toxins, and “being treated as cattle” has no proven evidence of addressing toxicity.
