"My son's death destroyed the person I used to be He does not exist anymore.”
Such a powerful way to express it! I CAN'T EVEN imagine the bloody horror!
But I DO KNOW, one is not ever the same again after the death of a child.
I told my husband as we were going into the funeral home for arrangements for our son's burial: we have suffered the greatest loss possible! surely our lives will be Blessed from now on!
Sadly it is the OPPOSITE!
How many marriages are destroyed by the death of a child??
We went on with our lives and were blessed with another child.
Still, the person I was before, "does not EXIST anymore"!
Something Karmelo Anthony didn't figure on is that 70% of the Texas state prisons aren't fully air conditioned. About half have ZERO air conditioning for prisoners, and some have air conditioning for certain areas, but not in others.
Prisoners in Texas will tell you that the cell blocks get above 100 degrees F daily during the summer, and the block walls radiate that daytime heat through the cells at night too. Try sleeping in 95 degrees with still air. Some units have fans, but then you're blowing hot air around like being in a convection oven. That's the conditions that half the prisoners in the state face.
The best chances of having a prison facility with air conditioning is to either be a MINIMUM Security risk, or to have built up years of doing good time and earning certain privileges. Karmelo Anthony will come in as a MEDIUM security risk, probably be held in isolation for the first few months and will most likely go to a hot smelly sweaty cell. He's going to be in for an eye-opening experience.
Yea the Dad is in pain. I can’t relate on that level, not many can. I do understand forgiveness. The dad mentioned he forgave him that day but doesn’t forgive what he’s done. I’m thinking the dad hasn’t truly forgave him yet? I mean we want to. But it can take time. In Psalm 103:12, which says, "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us". Basically saying your sins are totally forgotten. Gone forever from God’s forgiveness for you. Won’t be held over your head. As humans, and I hate that excuse, but we are. It’s hard sometimes. We want to forgive. And so much gets in the way. Our pride and anger. Our pain. Through Jesus we can. It takes faith. Trust. Humbleness to God. But not can be difficult.
I’ve thought about this recently, heard about this interaction. Think about this. Whose to say one day..20 yrs from now, the Metcalf family gains a new son. I mean the Anthony family literally put their son up for cash money. Do they really care? They cared about that money didn’t they. Imagine they visit him in prison off and on. Caring for him. Having forgiveness, true forgiveness and seeing him regularly. And one day he comes home to them instead of his own family. Wouldn’t that be a sight? If in the courtroom yesterday they would’ve said something like this out loud. That they forgave him. And they are sorry their son is gone and that now his life is ruined as well, but invited him to their home one day, as a son. Imagine the news right now. Where would the hatred in the streets go? Satan would have lost again. God’s love prevails, again. I can imagine it. It’s happened before. I know personally some it has happened to. And it was a white and black family as well. Except the results were opposite of this case. One can hope.
Austin Metcalf's father delivered a VERY POWERFUL message straight to his son's murderer, Karmelo Anthony, after the 35-year prison sentence "You can't look me in the EYES but you can STAB my f*cking SON!" 🔥🤨 (twitter.com) posted 5 hours ago by Oldpatriot

That is great information. Hopefully it prepares him for hell.
