It feels like most policies are aimed in helping Boomers, CEOs, Companies, Wall Street, Share Holders.
How are Gen Z going to have families if: Priced out of housing They cant afford food They cant buy cars Jobs don't pay enough to live Ai is taking their jobs
Are Gen Z just meant to stand by until Boomers are dead and gone? How can Trump say he cares about the military (Gen Z accounting for roughly 40% of the total active-duty enlisted force) when he seems to not give a shit about their issues?
Why can't the US Government help out the future generations? Why can't you spend money on helping with Gen Z school loans?, Gen Z first time home buyers, Gen Z training/trade/incentives for companies to hiring Gen Z over H-1B/ Force Companies to train Americans for American jobs rather than training overseas for them to be hiring to work in America (T-moblie and other Tech Companies)? Why doesnt the Government have Programs in high Schools like Germany to have kids set up to work for companies? There are so many things the Government could do for Gen Z but they do nothing. You say you want Gen Z to have kids and families but what are you doing to aid in that? What happened to "America First"? It looks like "Boomers and Trumps Family First" Wake up Trump! Open your eyes to the Future of the Country you say you fight for!
Typical boomer response. Say a whole lot of nothing, while ignoring the problem. You kind of prove my point too, since apparently you're in a lawyer adjacent field from your OWN admission of owning a scientific and legal advisory firm for more than thirty years and I SPECIFICALLY said lawyers and doctors are some of the only exceptions to what I'm saying, but even then that's not ALWAYS true.
Also you do a WHOLE LOT of assuming. None of yours or anyone else's business what I personally do, but I'm an outlier since I'm more or less self employed because I went through college and then graduated during covid where NOBODY WOULD HIRE ANYONE for years afterward FOR ANYTHING. And God ended up providing me with a path that led me that way.
But again, I'm an outlier, of my graduating class, I can count on one hand the number of people that actually found decent jobs. I know people that went through veterinary and engineering school, that TO THIS DAY, cannot find a relevant job for their degrees and have no choice but to work at Amazon warehouses. One of them moved across the country for a job, was lead on for a month with "multi round interviews" and then was passed up for an Indian and had to move back where we all grew up. So you can't even say its just the area we all live in, because even when people try and move to where the jobs supposedly are, they STILL can't get their foot in the door.
Which again, disproves all of your dumbass assumptions about people being just "lazy" since you can't get through vet school or engineering school while being lazy
So please, do shut the hell up with all of your assumptions. You didn't address a SINGLE problem I pointed out about the reality of today. THIS is why people hate older generations with a burning passion. LITERALLY its like a parody. I take time out of my day to point out all of the real problems, give statistical evidence and proof of my claims, links to said proof, and then YOU come along and just write a giant response claiming me and everyone my age are just lazy while ignoring EVERY SINGLE POINT I MADE.
It's so pathetic how you people are capable of looking at the depths of things and coming up with these autistic spiderweb charts for things like Q proofs that end up ACTUALLY being true and making sense, that require deep critical thinking, but when it comes to this ONE specific topic, anything involving people under the age of 35, its like all logic and reason go out the window for most people on this site.
I just don't understand it and can't fathom it. The cognitive dissonance required is almost to the same level of the mental gymnastics liberals have to justify their viewpoints. Like is it THIS hard to believe that economic conditions have changed in such a way that things are harder and worse in 30+ years? Like, seriously, people on this board and elsewhere will bitch about blackrock being evil for creating a class of slaves/serfs that literally can't afford to buy a house with DEI and ESG policies while buying up all the single family homes, and in the SAME EXACT BREATH, call everyone under the age of 35 lazy, stupid, unmotivated, etc. and blame them for their own circumstances. And then when confronted on it, they just do EXACTLY what you just did to me, and ignore EVERY SINGLE POINT anyone makes in favor of the lazy card, while PROVING MY POINTS, about how you describe circumstances and a reality that no longer exists and insist everyone just somehow make it work anyway?
I can't fathom this level of cognitive dissonance, like it ACTUALLY dumbfounds me we have people like this on our side. For whatever reason, this specific topic lowers people on our side to the same level as the typical liberal so they can self justify their position while ignoring any facts on the matter at hand.
Your problem is you are not worth what you think you're worth or have simply failed to convince your market that you are the best at what you do and worth what you will charge them for what ever service it is that you provide.
"None of yours or anyone else's business what I personally do,"
Touchy, touchy ...
I don't need to know what you do to read this and know you can't sell me or anyone else convincingly that you are what you think you are worth. Most folks who are confident and proud of what they do happily tell people what they do, and like Trump, don't shy away from making it known that they are the best at what they do. You sound like you are ashamed of what you do or of what you have done or failed to become.
It's a simple fact of life: an employer employs you for one of two reasons: either you make them a boatload of money or you save them a boatload of money. That's it. Short of that your skills sets are worth paying minimum wage at best.
" I know people that went through veterinary and engineering school, that TO THIS DAY, cannot find a relevant job for their degrees and have no choice but to work at Amazon warehouses."
Like you they have the chance to sell their markets on their skills sets, but at this point they have failed to do so - take the risk to start your own business and perform better in it than anyone else in their fields. They have a piece of paper slapped up on the wall. Nice. What have you done for me lately? Your friends have developed no personal marketing plan to sell people on the value of what that piece of paper means to them and why it should mean anything to anyone who would pay them money to do anything. If they've defaulted to Amazon or slinging Chipotle it is not the market that failed them. They have failed to sell themselves, and to be creative in their selling skills enough to stand out positively and above anyone else.
"Which again, disproves all of your dumbass assumptions about people being just "lazy" since you can't get through vet school or engineering school while being lazy."
You and your friends are all too lazy to develop a personal marketing plan for yourselves that will make you the kind of money you want to earn. It takes work. You just won't do it but choose instead to continue to try to compete against incompetent jeets. You want to make more money than a jeet? Prove your worth. Develop your successful marketing plan and encounter trial and error and with it experience and quit complaining.
You mistakenly think "boomers" had everything handed to them on a silver platter. Every generation from the Jamestown and the Pilgrims who literally started with nothing in a hostile persecuted environment that literally cost many their lives - never mind livelihoods to the Revolutionary War generation who personally pledged lives treasure a sacred honor to establish this nation now populated by so many ungrateful whiners -- or the Civil War generation that spilled the blood of 400,000 countrymen just to hold the Union together -- or the depression generations of the 1890's and 1930's, or the World War generations to the generations or technological advancements made by boomers, genX, millennials, and now today's gen-Z --- all have or had their respective challenges to overcome in their times. Those crying tears in their beer today too often have lost perspective of the challenges faced by other generations - and have subsequently failed to learn from them what it takes to succeed in any circumstance. And in that way you are far too proud to listen to the advice and wisdom of those who did successfully make it.
No one cares what you think you know if you are too lazy to make the effort to sell the market on your presumed genius. Whenever I ever looked at a person to hire I asked two questions: 1. Can he do the job? 2. Will he do the job? The first answers whether he is the best at what he does that would make me want to pay him what he thinks he's worth. The second - in light of all the demonstrated competencies is - is he a go getter enough to do the best job he can do, and apply those skills productively for my betterment, or for all his genius is he just a lazy shit?
It is timeless truth to say: either you perform or you don't, and that determines whether you are worth paying or not.
At present you are too busy whining to be convincing.
I'm done arguing with someone who wants to live in fantasy world and refuses to accept reality while openly denying factual evidence and refusing to actually refute a single argument I've presented. You've literally not debunked a single point I made and do nothing but default to calling me, everyone I know, and everyone in my entire generation lazy while knowing NOTHING about any of us.
This is like arguing with a leftist, you're incapable of making an actual argument. All you say is "prove your worth, market yourself, you're lazy". Well smart one, as I pointed out its PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to prove yourself OR your worth, when there are NO ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONS. As I ALREADY pointed out, nearly a third of all jobs are fake, and of what IS real 90%+ of NEW jobs go to women, while older generations aren't retiring because they can't afford to, meaning there's no CHANCE to prove yourself.
I just, really cannot fathom being this stupid and so far up your own ass with self righteousness, that you absolutely refuse to accept factual evidence and reality just so you can shit on an entire generation from your golden throne.
I PERSONALLY don't even blame boomers, since they just lived how was normal in their time. You can't blame people for just doing what was normal 60 years ago. But what DOES make me hate older people is this absolute refusal to admit that times have changed and INSIST in the most condescending, arrogant manner that everyone else on the planet is WRONG and only THEY are right, and the job market hasn't changed in decades when you PHYSICALLY SEE that's a lie. I'm just speechless as the retardation at work with this entire world view.
You're nothing more than an arrogant ass who's incapable of seeing any other point of view than your own, and people like you are the reason "young people" hate everyone older than 55 at this point. I wish no ill will, but this is literally why young people hate every older generation at this point.
This isn't even a "I'm right vs you're wrong" type of situation, since the OBVIOUS SOLUTION is lower taxes, lower or no immigration, and reshoring manufacturing and supply chains. Something EVERYONE agrees upon, but for reasons I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT FATHOM, you older people have this absurd cognitive dissonance where you'll say that in one breath and in the next breath INSIST TO THE DEATH, that young people are lazy and every problem in their life is self inflicted.
I'm not saying worthless stoner dumbasses that actually ARE self inflicted losers aren't a thing, they obviously are, but I just can't understand why you people REFUSE with your entire being to acknowledge that most of the problems are systemic and made to work against you BECAUSE the cabal want's a class of permanently renting slaves/serfs with zero upwards mobility.
It's freaking baffling how everyone can acknowledge all of this, but MAGICALLY when its everyone under 35 its EVERYTHING is OUR fault, and not the cabal, the government, the corrupt greedy CEOs and investment funds, etc. Everyone else, its the cabal and company, but magically if you're under 35 its your own fault and no one else's.
You people make no sense, have no argument, and your LITERAL ONLY comeback is "market yourself, you're lazy" while REFUSING to acknowledge a single factual, and sourced argument I and everyone else on my side have made. Its literally like arguing with a liberal on twitter. You have no argument, but you're SO FREAKING CONFIDENT in your own world view, that you ignore any and all proof to the contrary and insist its not you that's wrong, its everyone else on the planet that's wrong. It's just freaking mind boggling to me
"while knowing NOTHING about any of us."
What I do know you are a failure of your own making, who can't sell himself, his accomplishments, and skill sets to anyone convincingly to save his soul, complaining about his inability to get an entry level job.
"its PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to prove yourself OR your worth, when there are NO ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONS. :
Ever tried the military? It's competitive because Hegseth only wants the best. Are you the best? If you are, humble yourself and enlist like both of my boys did. If you are an Eagle Scout like they both are/were, maybe you'll get in as a lance corporal and not just a PFC. Give it try or are you too proud and out of shape? That's all on you.
My wife of 41 years and I have 4 children aged 32, 34, 36, and 38. Millennials. All college educated - three with masters degrees in fact, making their way building their families and careers. These are difficult times for some, but we all make choices. Some make better choices than others. My kids have made their choices and are prospering in this present environment in light of those choices in ways that it appears that you can't - or more likely won't because you are simply too lazy to prepare your personal marketing plan to sell yourself.
"... people like you are the reason "young people" hate everyone older than 55 at this point. I wish no ill will, but this is literally why young people hate every older generation at this point."
That's not true. Young people don't hate me - if any one regardless of age hates me, that's their problem and I don't really care. Their hate destroys them, not me. You need to find new friends and acquaintances who aren't personal failures and don't wreak with such angst and envy. Sadly, it appears it has rubbed off on you. For starters, try going to a Christ-centered church sometime and meet up with more positive people than you seem to surround yourself with at present. Bitterness is consuming you, and no one wants to hire pathologically bitter people. Bitterness exudes from the heart and bleeds outwardly in ways that pretending can't hide.
"... that young people are lazy and every problem in their life is self inflicted... but MAGICALLY when its everyone under 35 its EVERYTHING is OUR fault...."
I don't say that of all young people, least of all my own kids aged 32-38 who put the lie to most of your complaints about not having opportunities to succeed in the present economy. Maybe they don't just sit around scrolling reels all day and playing video games like so many of your fellow travelers do. Like I said, we all make choices. Squander not time for time's the stuff life's made of (B. Franklin). If you are just wasting time not developing your own creative personal marketing pitch that makes you stand out positively from others, you just wasting your life away complaining without solving your basic employability problems. You are your own worst enemy.
"... your LITERAL ONLY comeback is "market yourself, you're lazy" while REFUSING to acknowledge a single factual, and sourced argument I and everyone else on my side have made."
Your choices so far have you only spinning your wheels in an economy with so many opportunities.
I'll ask you point blank -- besides complaining, what skills set do you possess that allows you to do what it is that you do better than anyone else can do it? Next ask yourself why you at this moment are not doing everything creatively possible to identify and pursue your customer without constantly looking over your shoulder at smelly jeets (unless you are one yourself, and at that rate, the bar will just have to be set higher)?
"... but you're SO FREAKING CONFIDENT in your own world view,..."
I have every reason to be confident. I am blessed and I am thankful for that (you should try giving thanks yourself - it will rid you of your bitterness). After working full time paying for night school living on my own, I graduated college into the workforce in the middle of a deep recession, way higher unemployment than now, and a 15% prime rate. I moved 400 miles away to the Northeast and the best I could land at the time were contract temp lab jobs for 2 years - all while holding 2 BS degrees - one in Biology and Chemistry. Over the next 12 years working F/T in the pharma industry first in R&D, then Quality Control, and then regulatory affairs, I married, earned an MS in Biochemistry and an MBA (night school), and my wife and I had 4 kids. Opened my consulting business 31 years ago based solely on the quality of my personal reputation and business relationships I had made, and the quality and timeliness of my personal deliverables.
My wife had a career in the food industry beginning at the lab bench (where I met her) eventually holding the title, Director of R&D - before she became my Sec'y Treasurer where she has been the last ~26 years working along side me. We accumulated no debt beyond a 30 year mortgage we paid off in 15. We inherited nothing from our parents except the obligation to take them in when ailing and effectively insolvent.
Today she and I are multimillionaires, because we made good choices, planned effectively, made the best of adversities and set backs, invested wisely, and learned how to sell what we did well and effectively to a market willing to pay our rates.
" third of all jobs are fake, and of what IS real 90%+ of NEW jobs go to women, ...."
Try imagining a job description in your field that only you can do, because you do it better than anyone else can. You are the product and you need to learn how to sell yourself to your chosen industry. Advertised jobs are not where the real opportunities are. Try writing your own job description for a job that needs to be created for which your industry has an unmet need, and then go out and sell your skills set as the solution. That is what will open doors, get you past the HR drones, their phony job postings and those alleged career squashing "women" you think are holding you back. Man up.
while older generations aren't retiring because they can't afford to,...."
You resent people my age who are still working, but I do so by choice, not because I have to, but because its fun. When you like what you do and you do it well, it isn't "work" - remember few other people do what I do as well as I do it, so for all your whining I am not the one holding you back. You are.
Lose the jealousy and resentment and be thankful for the fact that you live in the US with more avenues for opportunities to explore than you can find anywhere else. Think outside the box and hone and polish your new personal sales pitch.
Failure breeds failure if you don't have the capacity to learn from your mistakes. Your present plan for employment is clearly not working for you, because your resentment and compulsion to blame someone for your own inertia stands in the way of your potential for success.
Ok, at this point you're just a complete asshole, who's assuming they know me and the people I know, assuming the worst, and STILL refuses to refute a SINGLE point I made while regurgitating the same shit over and over. You know NOTHING about me, and in fact, seem to actively ignore the only thing I've said about myself about how I'm an outlier here in that most of this DOES NOT apply to me.
You know NOTHING about how hard working I am, how hard working my friends or family are. Yet you sit on your golden throne passing judgement on me and everyone I know, as well as my entire generation while ignoring every empirically provable fact I've presented.
I'm happy things apparently have worked out for you and your kids, but a family of 6 does not make a sample size for a group 71 million strong.
I just accept you people are so out of touch with reality and so far up your own ass that there's no reasoning with you. You people offer no REAL solutions, just these stupid vague "solutions" about that don't solve anything. I haven't even brought up how EVERY MAJOR COMPANY ON THE PLANET has now switched to AI based resume review that automatically rejects 75% of ALL resumes before a human ever sees them based on some retarded DEI or ESG criteria (https://www.forbes.com/sites/karadennison/2026/03/11/why-ai-is-rejecting-your-resume-before-humans-see-it/)
On top of EVERYTHING ELSE I've brought up mind you. I could bring up dozens of more points in favor of my argument, DOZENS, all factually and empirically provable. But NOTHING will ever satisfy you dumbasses. The LITERAL ONLY possible explanation in your mind is that we're all lazy do nothings who don't want to work hard or some other stupid completely false generalization. There can be NO OTHER POSSIBLE explanation.
AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T ADDRESSED A SINGLE POINT, THIS:> "Try imagining a job description in your field that only you can do, because you do it better than anyone else can. Man up.">
Is not a real solution. I mean for God's sake, you even said "alleged" about women getting 90% of the new jobs created annually when I gave you LITERAL PROVABLE EVIDENCE OF IT. This DOES NOT WORK IN MODERN DAY.
I just can't fathom being this far up my own ass, that I literally ignore factual evidence, and tell someone to just "will" a job into existence basically. Even if this DID freaking work, which it doesn't, you'd STILL have to compete with the immigrants that are willing to do the EXACT SAME JOB, for pennies compared to you.
It's like you people live in some fantasy world, where things work like they did in old sit coms where you could just walk into a hardware store or garage, show you're of good character and BAM, instant lifetime career. I'd love if that were true, but its not. No one freaking cares anymore. Its all about who will do the bare minimum for the least pay.
And NONE OF THIS EVEN ADDRESSES THE MAIN POINT, that even if you COULD get an entry level position somewhere, you STILL WILL NOT BE MAKING A LIVING WAGE, because to live a "normal life" like what someone in 1990 did, you'd have to be making over a $100K MINIMUM. So regardless of if you somehow manage to magically will this hypothetical job into existence using boomer magic, you STILL wouldn't be making enough to be anything other than a forever renter.
The ENTIRE POINT of ALL of this, is that the lifestyle people WANT, what USED TO BE FREAKING NORMAL, one working parent, one job, kids, and an owned home, is LITERALLY UNOBTAINABLE, for the vast majority of people born after 2000, under the current system and circumstances.
Not everyone can join the military, not everyone can be a lawyer, or a doctor, not everyone can get lucky and somehow magically make what you're saying work if it somehow DID work. It USED to be that ANYONE could work just about ANY basic job that wasn't fast food, and have that kind of lifestyle. Basic, but nice and satisfying. That's not true today.
I just seriously cannot wrap my head around being this far up my own ass about any given topic, but I give up, you win. You're more stubborn than me. Congratulations. I'm out, I can't be bothered to keep arguing with someone who refuses see ANY kind of reason, ignores EVERY bit of empirical evidence, and just keeps regurgitating the same shit over and over that's just so blatantly WRONG with such unjustified confidence. Namely because the world has changed GREATLY in the past several decades. The world post 2008 is so different from pre 2008, and post 2020 with pre 2020, that you can't even compare recent history with the circumstances previous generations lived through. EVEN the freaking silent generation that lived through the great depression EVENTUALLY got a legitimate economic break with WW II, which jumpstarted EVERYTHING to the point it created the greatest economic conditions in modern history for any given generation. Trump is helping yeah, but until this system collapses, its not enough to completely reverse all of this damage. I just give up on arguing this, there's no winning against you people who are so WRONG, yet have this bizarre unshakable confidence in being right DESPITE being provably wrong. Its literally like arguing with a liberal on twitter. No matter how much you prove them wrong, they just ignore anything they don't like, pretend like it doesn't exist and continue spouting the same bullshit like no one just literally disproved what they said. This is the exact same thing. And its ONLY on this topic. In ANY OTHER TOPIC OR CONDITION, EVERYONE would agree there's a systemic problem because of the cabal, banks, giant investment funds, etc. colluding to create a class of forever renter serfs/slaves, but when it comes to this specific demographic of younger people ALL OF THAT goes out the window and you people REFUSE to accept the same is true for younger generations.
You can't have it both ways. Either the cabal is colluding to make everyone a forever renter slave making JUST ENOUGH to not starve to death, or everyone is a lazy ass and there's 10s of millions of high paying six figure jobs out there that nobody wants for some absolutely insane reason because they're too lazy to work.
Both CANNOT be true at the same time.
But whatever, I said I'm done and I mean it this time. I have better things to do than argue with some dumbass who's convinced he's the only correct person on the planet, and everyone else living their lives is wrong about what's going on in their lives. Enjoy your golden throne, oh arbiter of work ethics and judge of the youth.
