Something is not right ,, i hope we werent set up ? appeal easy for sure ! This is terrible , if they end up with appeal and then 6 months !!
100 years ? 50 years? - you csn murder children snd not get that sentence. I realize in terriorism charges but still ... I would have rather seen something that would stick 10/ 20 years , dont get me wrong , i wish all these sickos were in prison , but i think this sentence will back fire !
3 counts of attempted murder each. In other words, they shot one cop in the neck and he miraculously survived, and they attempted to kill 2 other cops as well. And these weren't just random spur of the moment shootings, they planned their actions so as to lure cops in so they could ambush and murder them.
People who murder children or anyone else and get lower sentences than this is WRONG. Those kind of miscarriages of justice don't make these sentences wrong.
Im so glad to hear that the chances of the time being lowered on an appeal is unlikely . Thank u so much , i didnt have all the details as far as luring cops to kill them . Wow . I hope they have to serve everyday that was given them ,
They should have been charged with murder or attempted murder, not terrorism.
"Terrorism" has always been defined as (a) violence (b) against civilians, (c) to acheive a political purpose.
The LEO's are not civilians.
They should have been charged with attempted murder and sentenced to 20 years or so.
Also, if these crimes occurred in Texas, then the federal government never had jurisdiction to prosecute.
Yes, I know that every attorney and judge "looks the other way" and violates their oath of office when doing so, but federal government jurisdiction is LIMITED -- and it is irrelevant that federal government employees were the targets of the crimes.
These are Federal crimes, not State. Given the Federal charges they were found guilty of, this sentencing is not excessive. Yes, they can appeal, but Antifa is now designated as a terrorist organization and these crimes are related to terrorist activity. That is a huge enhancement that increases sentences.
I doubt whether the 5th Circuit Federal Appeals Court will overrule the verdict or the sentencing. The 5th Circuit is the most conservative of all the 13 Federal Appellate Courts. Federal court in Texas was the most appropriate venue for an Antifa case like this in order to set precedence and hopefully act as a deterrence. That is the difference. Before the terrorist designation, these cases were mostly handled on a State level where people like this usually get a slap on the wrist.
They will be sent to Federal prison. Since 1987 there has been no parole for inmates in Federal prison. A person serving a 50 year sentence would only be able to get "good conduct time" if they behave. That is 54 days a year. The soonest they could be released with a 50 year sentence would be after serving 42.5 years. This lot is not going anywhere anytime soon.
That gives me a lot of hope ! Thank you for the clarification and the time u took to explain ! . Im praying this this will make the other demons disappear!
I don't blame you for having doubts after seeing people like this being coddled by more local law enforcement and their judicial system. Once in a while we manage to use the system like it was intended, to get demon ilk like this off the game board. Texas is just that state. These dimwits made the huge mistake of trying to pull this off in a state that has no patience for this kind of nonsense. Don't mess with Texas! They mean it.
Im so happy that these dimwits are goingvto ptospn .. i judt thought tge amount of time was a bit much ( not by my standards ) and therfore they would use this gor an appesl and once we forget about it we would maybe find a small news artical of how it wss changed to 1 ot 2 yesrs .
My boy is still here - he took a strong turn for the better , hes back to wslking eating wagging tail etc . The cancer on his bsck is a huge growth and he is no where near where he was , went from wslking miles to blocks .. but his mind is still sttong . I dont have the heart to do this while he is doing this well . But he could slip again so its a day to day , thank u for asking - its a heart breaking horror as you know ! I did try everything for the past year everything that we know to do on here and I even did two massive surgeries where they cut the cancer out, but it came back. I will never do that again. The revovery was brutal , an MD surgeon i know went in with a vet and worked on him but it came back , its aggressive

The sentences are very appropriate.
