King Charles and Queen Camilla are keeping their current setup instead of shifting into the renovated Buckingham Palace. Smart move given the cost and hassle already sunk into the place. The royals clearly see no reason to upend daily life for a bigger palace that brings its own headaches.
I imagine the Palace is draughty, and Byzantine, so it has security issues - remember when someone got into the palace and he was apprehended running around in the Queen's chambers?
If I remember correctly the guy in that particular incident was part of a tour and snuck away. All the Security in the world doesn’t do much when you roll out the red carpet and invite people into the perimeter.
Especially in the massive older buildings like the palace where there’s a billion and a half doorways, nooks crannies and seldom use entrances in different wings people can sneak through.
Ironically something in the Whitehouses favor is both the smaller size and the fact it’s been renovated by the paranoid enough times. That anything outside the guarded entrances and doors between wings is effectively cut off.
I have zero respect for "the royals"! All those precious girls being raped daily by gangs of animals, that they let into their country. Is it going take it happening to one of them in order to make it stop? I have not heard one peep out of any of them regarding this matter.

Buck Palace is owned by the state who pay for its upkeep, the taxpayers pay.
The Royals have never liked Buck Palace, its cold, drafty and inhospitable, I can't say I blame them for moving.

It APPEARS that all the European Royals have been made IRRELEVANT. They have been largely dismantled, displaced or disgraced!
