There never really was a ‘Special Relationship’. At best it was a degree of fondness and or partiality held by some in our wealthy Elite. .
The ‘Special Relationship’ was largely a creation of convenience for 20th century political and economic interests. If there was anything that could be called a ‘special relationship’ with anyone. It likely would have either been the French or ironically given they were an Absolute Monarchy. Tsarist Russia.

I think in honor of that special relationship we should give the UK a gift -- give them Hapless Harry and Nutmeg back. Since they're planning on a visit anyway...let them stay in England where they belong.
