Asians and Africans dump 90-95% of the plastic. They throw trash into streams, which gets washed into the oceans. My personal plastic goes into a landfill, buried underground. It's not recycled, as center employees informed me.
You got that right! In eastern NC we have already hit 100 degrees. Will probably get there again this week. Unless you understand southern humidity you can’t possibly imagine what that feels like. IDK what’s going on with our electricity. It the last week it’s been out at least an hour on three different days. Thankfully we have a couple generators just in case. I can’t imagine what it’s like in the deep south.
We had a "low" humidity day of only 55% lol.
It was accompanied by 99° temp. We got a generac a couple years ago so no more no ac with power outages. We don't evacuate - more stress than staying so definitely needed the generac
That’s great you have that. I don’t know what we have. We have at least two, maybe three. It’s wired to the house in an outside building. Just flip a switch and we are on the ginny. Thankfully my house is cinder block and we can handle an hour power outage. It stays cooler than modern built homes. The is 80 years old & totally rebuilt inside. After living through power outages during hurricane Floyd floods we bought one & grab deals here and there.
Yeah, we had one like that - it ran everything EXCEPT the ac. The generac is whole house, hooked to natural gas, comes on by itself after 30 sec or under and stays on until power is back. I LOVE it.
That’s nice. We live in the rural country area. Have have a gas tank for the heating. I believe around here the people with natural gas are in the city. So far it’s not usually bad here unless we get a hurricane. I believe the power is going out because about five miles away they just built a larger sub station and getting it right. We have had a few bad storms in the last couple weeks and power was out briefly. The local electric company is really good, it’s not the big companies. It’s a local co-op I think. Seems like the local farmers got it going decades ago. I don’t remember probably before I was born.
That is nice! My sister lives along the line that supplies one of the parish govt, so she is first to get power back on, but she has a generac also. None of us like no ac summer here - hell, I tend to run ac 24/7/365 lol
I have been all over Google asking WHY the UK government is banning the use of air conditioners in the home and found no answer anywhere. It's the classic what and how, but no WHY.
I wonder how many of us here grew up before air conditioning. I never lived with AC until I got married 40 years ago. My house had one fan, and it stayed with my parents. Schools didn't have AC. Even UNC-Chapel Hill didn't have AC in most of the dorms and classrooms when I was there in the early 1970s. In the 1960s, we had multiple 100+ days in a row. We just sat in the living room and sweated. None of us died from it.
We had a stretch of a few years until six years ago where our heat and air wasn't working, and we couldn't replace it. So we went several years without either one. Even though we are old, we survived fine. Young people are wusses.
But now that I have a good system, no one is taking it away. In 90+ weather, I still have to sleep under a comforter, as it's kind of chilly in my house at night.
I grew up in the 70s. We had a window unit in the living room. My parents added on to the house so my mom could open a beauty shop at home. I know my dad hated having to pay for that AC. He wouldn’t let us run the AC at night and when no customers were there. I loved the AC but as kids back then we spent most of the time outside.
I am not gonna be told how to live my life while East Indians dump millions of pounds of plastic into the ocean.

They probably know recycling is a hoax. I believe the average person doesn’t have a clue how other countries pollute the earth.
They want to die if they try taking ac from down south.

The AWFULS aren’t going to like that at all.
My liberal comunist friend loves her 3 air conditioners!😃😃
Yeah the smart meter on your house won't be utilized IN ANY WAY if you try to run your AC when its 100° out.

If it wasn't for the white man, most of the world would still be peeing in their own drinking water. That is what Europe wants us to go back to.

Air conditioners need to go after corrupt commies.
Oh boy, if they screw our air conditioning, they'll be hearing from my wife... and it's not going to be pretty. Thats legit war talk right there.
