Typhoon Maysak has triggered catastrophic flooding and dam breaches in southern China, particularly in the Guangxi region, leaving at least 15 people dead as of July 7, 2026. The storm’s remnants caused reservoir walls to burst in Nanning, forcing the evacuation of over 62,000 residents and placing the city on its highest emergency alert level.
Key impacts include:
Guangxi Province: Severe flooding in cities like Nanning, Guigang, and Hengzhou resulted from torrential rains, with the Liulan and Yunbiao reservoirs suffering partial collapses. Central China: Hubei Province reported 11 deaths from severe storms and tornadoes, while other areas faced widespread waterlogging and transport disruptions. Ongoing Threats: Authorities warn that residual rainfall will continue to affect the region, with Super Typhoon Bavi approaching from the Pacific and expected to bring further extreme weather to eastern China and Taiwan. National Response: President Xi Jinping has ordered "all-out efforts" for rescue operations, with the Ministry of Emergency Management raising its response level and deploying significant relief supplies. Any word on how the Three Gorges Dam is holding up?
Another Typhoon is on the way:
Super Typhoon Bavi, currently a Category 5 storm, is heading toward Taiwan and southeastern China. After devastating Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands with winds up to 290 km/h (180 mph), Bavi is expected to pass near Taiwan this Friday and make landfall along China’s eastern coast near the Zhejiang-Fujian border around Saturday, July 11.
The storm poses significant risks, including:
Heavy Rain and Flooding: Up to 10 inches of rain is forecast for regions including Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan, with potential for landslides and reservoir breaches. Severe Weather: China is already experiencing extreme impacts from other systems, such as Typhoon Maysak (which caused fatalities and flooding in Guangxi) and rare tornadoes in Hubei province linked to atmospheric instability. Economic Disruption: Bavi’s path through busy shipping lanes threatens to disrupt commodity supply chains and port operations, with wind gusts expected to reach 100 knots. AI-generated answer. This one may affect 3 Gorges Dam.
Thanks, Asian.

You are too kind, love you long time. 😂
Hopefully well, I've seen several posts on FB indicating that dam is slowing earth's rotation. If it were to burst we could spin out of control!
Probably not, it's not the dam itself that affected the Earth's rotation, but the massive amount of water behind it. If the damage bursts, all that water will flood downstream and redistribute all that mass over a wider area... but of course, killing millions of people in the process.
Um yeah, I was kidding dude. Aside from the fact BS meter going off being a FB post, I severely doubt either dam or water affect rotation speed.
Now global warming on the other hand...
😂😂
crickets from the msm.... there shall never be a reason to trust any of the msm....
They could never publish something that’s bad for china
I'm surprised they don't have Sarah McLachlan singing sad songs for monetary donations yet...
Watch the water…
