I tend to think this has less to do with a booming economy and more about deported illegal immigrants or illegal immigrants declining to claim unemployment because they don't want to get deported.
And U3 vs U6 numbers. They don’t count people who stopped looking for a job. If we used 1980s calculation the unemployment total rate is astounding.
This is hard to believe with all of the store, restaurant closures.
And yet, 105 million people no longer participate in the workforce. The most ever. Consequently are not considered "unemployed". Neat!
