I've had Japanese permanent residency for about 13 years or so, IIRC. I've passed the N3 language proficiency test and have studied for N2. I do not know if they decide to make N2 a requirement, would they make that retroactive to those who already have residency cards. I've gotten to the point where every new word sounds similar and the kanji starts looking the same,but this would certainly be motivation to finally getting around to passing the N2. Then again, I took and passed N3 because even though I passed it the first time, I wanted to pass it again to make sure I didn't somehow pass accidentally.

No. Keep Japan as Japan. If they do this, the ones who got in will eventually be incharge of enforcing these policies. Not in 5 years, maybe 10, maybe 20 years from not they will change these policies to remove this requirement. By then, the gates will open. Shut down all immigration worldwide till the cabal is gone.

My wife has friends and family working in Japan and they had to spend time BEFORE going there to work learning Japanese. Between learning her tasks as an office cleaner and learning the language one relative spent a year with no pay in Manila learning
