The South is Rising. THE Heartland of America IS America. The South is Family. The Northern states are emaciated, shit stained, ghosts of their former selves. Nothingness. Valueless.
Interesting that what we have is the continuation of that same 'good guys' Union, yet for some reason everyone in America is at peak rage towards it. We all collectively despise this government and now everyone's talking about seceding. People are fleeing to the South for their Freedom.
But strangely, most of those same people can't quite put 2 and 2 together and realize why the South REALLY wanted to secede.
Grown adults who still talk like the Civil War was about slavery, are arrested-developed, ignorant, uniformed retards. In many cases it's straight up willfull ignorance, which is worse than actual ignorance.
Those who preferred the system in the South have now mostly moved North and have enslaved / corrupted most of the minds , but have no fear they are working their way back southward. Most of the widespread ignorance is not willful but rather promoted. Both the North & the South do love them some Sportsball & TV .
Just like these Circuses both N & S eat themselves to much Bread. And both need to wake up and work together or our communist overlords may yet rule THE WORLD.
You are looking at the malignancy of the Democratic Party, which was stripped of its slave plantations of the south and moved into the urban areas of the north, to insinuate themselves into unions and the "working class" by way of Karl Marx.
Blacks were refugees from the postbellum south because the Democrat Party was still in control with lynchings and ballot suppression, and the northern cities offered the prospect of wage labor. This went on for a while, with the blacks rising in standing, until the Democrats conceived a way to cripple them by an old enslavement tactic: break up the family and destroy the male lineage through fatherhood. It was called welfare, and paid poor mothers if they had no husband. The resulting large clutch of children had no father to learn from, and they joined gangs to attain their adulthood. The result of this travesty shows up in bullets on Chicago weekends.
The south was a rising slave power, ruled by Democrats. The Republicans were formed as an abolitionist party and won their first election with Lincoln. Due to the limitations on slavery in new states admitted to the Union, the south correctly saw that slavery was doomed---as the future Union would have a majority of abolitionist states---so it decided to confederate and secede while the getting was good. Any other motive was window-dressing. This was well understood at the time. My great-great-grandfather was in the Army of Illinois and his words to my great-grandfather were that the War was always about slavery.
Apologists for the south like to appeal to notions of chivalry and family. But the north were all families descended from pioneers and those who settled the midwest---and the practice of slavery was the antithesis of chivalry. It was the triumph of evil.

Don't just read one guy's version, read both N and S texts and compare. None of the texts mention slavery as a grievance or reason for the war in any kind of meaningful way until after 2 years into the war. It was not the reason, it was the excuse. That's why the North kept their slaves AFTER the South gave theirs up. <-- historical, documented fact. By the way, Juneteenth never happened, but you probably believe that fairytale too, right?

I have a huge tome on the history of slavery, dated 1850, complete with census data. What news do you want to impart?
I have family history. Are you saying that is all a mirage? Or that they were too stupid to understand what was going on?
The reason for the war was about secession and the continuation of the Union. The underlying cause was the desire of the South to continue slavery. The only issue settled by the victory (May 26, 1865) was the one of secession. It took the 13th Amendment (December 6, 1865) to settle the issue of slavery, which I do believe applied to all slaves, North or South. Up through 1863, Lincoln was offering the South a peaceful resolution of the war if it would renounce slavery. They refused, and from that point, proposals for an amendment were in play.
I've only heard of "Juneteenth" in recent years. It was the declaration of the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas on June 19, 1865. Do you have some grudge against the celebration of that occasion? It is curious to me that the date has been buried most of my lifetime.
I would be willing to bet that I have more basis to call you "son" than you have to call me. That kind of sneer is a tell against your scholarship.
