So this is pretty anecdotal, but since most the stuff on here is anyways... a near retirement grid operator at my church recently (this last summer) lost his job for not taking an order from his manager (manager was new to the company, very political takeover of the position) to switch off power to an area. He was telling me it was illegal and that there are only certain people he can take those types of orders from.. he said they were filling the place with young people that didn't seem to be as passionate or thorough with their jobs. Obviously they can pay them less, but there may be a bigger reason...
