Costello quotes Cohen as saying:

"I swear to God, Bob. I don't have anything on Donald Trump."

Costello also quotes Cohen saying:

"I don't understand why they're trying to put me in jail for some f-ing NDAs."

Lots of objections being sustained

It occurs to me they might call Cohen back as a stand as a rebuttal to the rebuttal. I don't know if they can do that but seems possible

So Costello's being allowed as a rebuttal witness but limited.

Justice Merchan rules that Robert Costello can be called to scrutinize Cohen's two allegedly inconsistent statements, and he'll have "some latitude" to testify on the alleged pressure campaign.

But the judge says he won't allow a "trial within a trial" beyond that.

I don't think $60,000 is right

I think it was a portion of a total of 60,000.

https://twitter.com/KlasfeldReports/status/1792558589246099888?t=lDKv4AMX4q_G6p2K4I2QQQ&s=19

Blanche's questioning turns to the RedFinch expense, and Cohen describes paying his contact there $20,000 in a "small paper bag."

Cohen says that didn't resolve the matter because the full expense was $50,000.

EDIT: SO HE KEPT 30K. but when they reimbursed him, it was "doubled up" so the 30K became 60K because Cohen claims he was reimbursed the money he put out, but it was doubled because he was getting paid as if it was income

Prosecutors say Costello was not on the witness list

Trump's lawyers say they can put him on because of Cohen's testimony

Here's the biggie

Trump's lawyer Blanche: We call Robert Costello.

Prosecutors fighting to keep him off the stand or limit his testimony to two questions.

Actually CSPAN. Judge would not let them show the video because the CSPAN expert from weeks ago didn't talk about this video

But the judge lets a picture in. Trump is with Schiller so it was possible Cohen called Schiller and spoke to Trump.

A. She didn't raise the money

B. The Money doesn't go to her

Let me put it this way. Would they be raising money if there was no connection? Absolutely. It's an election year. The Democratic senator from California would be raising money for his election whether or not Trump was on trial or not

None of this is in the filing you posted about

Did Congress approve Jack Smith

Why would Congress be involved at all? We're they involved in Hur or Durham or Mueller?

I didn't forget that. That's a completely separate issue. It has nothing to do with the filing on Friday

evidence was ou8t of sequence due to the prosecutiinj and not President Trump as they tried to sell the court. That was false making it fraud upon the courts.

Neither Judge Cannon or Nauta's lawyers even made the allegation of a fraud on the court. This was made by folks on Twitter. Julie Kelly mainly and she jumbled up several things

Judge Cannon ordered a special Master to review the documents until the appeals court overruled her. This was in December

It was after this that Walt Nauta's lawyers noticed the order of one of the boxes didn't match the original index .

Julie Kelly then started talking a different box at a different time and tried to claim a picture of the contents of a different box taken during the search of Mar A Lago was fake.

What she claimed is not supported by the actual court docs.

Before the Did you steal money from the Trump Org question, the best punch Trump's lawyers threw was a question about a phone call Cohen said he had with Trump. He said he called Keith Schiller and Schiller handed the phone to Trump. It was a super short call and Trump's lawyers showed texts from Cohen to Schiller suggesting he only spoke to Schiller about another subject.

I think Cohen said this was the call he told Trump he took care of the Stormy Daniels thing. IIRC.

Prosecutors will ask about that after lunch and they are arguing now about introducing photos from CNN of Trump and Schiller.

Prosecutors ask about Costello

Prosecutor Hoffinger: You didn't hire Mr. Costello, right? Cohen: I did not. I did not trust him; he kept invoking Mr. Giuliani and I felt anything I told him would go to Rudy then President Trump. Hoffinger: Is this your waiver of attorney-client in 2019? Yes. https://x.com/innercitypress/status/1792594256789385658

Trump's lawyers are done with Cohen. Ended up asking him about his income during his last years with Trump and since.

So the prosecutors can now redirect.

They ask about the money he stole

Prosecutor Hoffinger: Red Finch, what was the work? Cohen: To create an algorithm to have Mr. Trump raise in a poll of businessmen on CNBC - into the top 10. Red Finch acquired IP addresses until Mr. Trump was Number 9. Hoffinger: Then Mr. Trump wouldn't pay? Yes. Prosecutor Hoffinger: The extra $30,000 - why'd you keep it? Cohen: I was angry because of the reduction of the bonus. It was almost like self-help. I had laid out money to Red Finch.

Trump's lawyers bring up Robert Costello.

This Robert Costello https://www.foxnews.com/video/6353117602112

Robert Costello: I can prove Michael Cohen is lying, I am ready to testify

I wonder if they will call him as a witness.

https://x.com/innercitypress/status/1792573931754328290 Trump's lawyer Blanche: You asked Mr. Costello to ask Mr. Giuliani to find out how it ended up at SDNY and how in Main Justice approved it, right? Cohen: Yes. Blanche: Now B-1008... Would it surprise you you had 75 calls with Mr. Costello? Cohen: He reached out

by the way the guy who's thread you are discussing is very anti Putin.

The whole point of his research is to design better sanctions on Russia.

For example, one of his key insights Russia has almost no machine tool production capacity of its own.

For example, they looked at job listings for a Russia arms producer and the skills they looked for were people with experience from 10 different tools made in the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. None were made in Russia.

Judge Merchan’s activist daughter has now raised $93 million off of this ongoing lawfare case against President Trump.

This is false. And doesn't make any sense at all

If you follow the link in the Gateway Pundit article it makes this clear.

2
CriticalThinking4Me 2 points ago +2 / -0

Please elaborate.

Also do you think this war was cost free for Russia?

Putin has just shaken up his own military.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was demoted.

Nikolai Patrushev was removed as Security Council Secretary. Shoigu put in his place.

Lieutenant-General Yuri Kuznetsov was arrested. Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov

The new Russian Defense Minister has never served in the military.

And then there's Yevgeny Prigozhin.

He was a key element of Russia's defense system He was asssinated after he rebelled against others in the Russian Military, particularly Shoigu. Patrushev allegedly approved the assasination.

Me Personally? I don't think this would be happening if everything was hunky-dory.

OK, as I was typing this up, I just saw this.

Holy Moly, they saved the best for last. Cohen admitted stealing from the Trump Organization

Trump's lawyer Blanche: You said $130,000 for Daniels, $50,000 for RedFinch for polling? Yes Trump's lawyer Blanche: But you only paid RedFinch $20,000. How'd you get it for him? Cohen: I took it out of TD Bank over several days. Blanche: In a duffel bag? Cohen: No. In a brown paper bag Blanche: You were square with him? Cohen: He would have liked the 30k Trump's lawyer Blanche: But Allen Weisselberg grossed up to $100,000 - so you stole from the Trump Organization, right? Cohen: I did. Blanche Have you been prosecuted for larceny or even made to pay it back? Cohen: No sir.

Friday's ruling

So here is the actual key parts of her ruling.

1st motion

The Court does not authorize Defendant Trump’s proposed redactions to witness statements in Exhibit 9 to the Motion.

ii. The Court authorizes the limited redactions to the portions of sentences set forth in the Special Counsel’s chart on the basis of the stated Rule 6(e) rationale

2nd motion

Motion Exhibit 2: The Court does not authorize Defendant Trump’sproposed redactions to witness statements in Paragraph 28

The Court accepts the remainder of the parties’ proposed redactions as to Exhibit 2.2 The parties are directed to redact the name of a potential government witness

ii. Motion Exhibit 18: The Court authorizes the redactions of sentences identified in the Special Counsel’s submission relating to grand jury testimony of “Person 12."

iii. Opposition Exhibit 1: The Court does not authorize Defendant Trump’s proposed redactions to witness statements in Paragraph 28

iv. Opposition Exhibit 5: On the basis of the Special Counsel’s stated Rule 6(e) rationale, the Court directs fullsealing of Opposition Exhibit 5

She then mentions two Special Counsel Motions which are granted in part and denied in part based on previous rulings.

So for the most part this is a very favorable ruling for Jack Smith.

Backstory This goes back months. At least as early as January. They have been fighting over redactions to motions. Not even the motions themselves which are still undecided.

And Jack Smith made Cannon reverse a ruling on redactions. In a filing in February he said she made "a clear error" and applied the wrong legal standing. So Smith filed a "motion to reconser".... basically pointing out she would get overturned on appeal....and may even give him a cause to ask her to be removed.

She reversed her ruling in April. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/2960380/judge-cannon-agrees-hide-witness-names-trump-classified-documents-trial/

U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon ruled in favor of special counsel Jack Smith’s request to hide the names of witnesses involved in former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case.

The decision marks the end of a monthslong saga after Smith argued that the release of the names could expose them to danger. The identities of many witnesses would have been revealed if Trump was cleared to attach discovery evidence about the witnesses on the public court docket.

So they have been sniping at each other in legal briefs for a while.

A bunch more filings are going to hit the docket today
