How did the man stay so calm? Every time I see Byron speak I like him more. Maybe he wasn't ready to be Speaker this round, but I think he would make a great Speaker with that kind of level headedness & his way of calmly stating the facts. I couldn't even finish the clips because I want to punch her in the face (dick?) for constantly interrupting him to prevent him from speaking truth.

Our intake sheet is half the size it was last year!

Are you experiencing the same brain fog in your clients?

GingerPatriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

Some for sure, but those that don't drink are having the same memory issues.

GingerPatriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep, I know the fog of loss well and this is very similar to that. I had not made that connection but glad you pointed it out!

Here is what I remind myself of every time it overwhelms me: Jesus suffered so much more than I have & did so knowing what He would endure and STILL He chose to endure it. That kind of love cannot be matched by anything in this world!

They can take my money, my material things & even my health, but they can't take away my Savior! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I do not know true suffering, and if He could suffer for me, I will suffer these worldly woes knowing He will never abandon me. They can take everything from me but my God, and my God is enough to sustain me through worldly suffering.

I like this explanation, it feels accurate and agree that they didn't realize issues were obvious and back off, not these monsters!

It's a benefit to you that you can relate it to the massive propaganda and brainwashing weapons being used against us. I can relate to the physical exhaustion and overall feeling of doom & gloom as well. Knowing we are not truly a free country is (as mentioned) demoralizing & draining. Hang in there, I'll add you to my prayers frens.

Absolutely! It's crazy to me that people with FOUR kids don't remember getting a $8,400 deposit that wasn't a paycheck. How can a person forget that? MOST of our clients did and you make a great point, most of them are demoralized.

Eastern plains here, I have to wonder where Griswold screwed up because I'm certain the fix was in to get rid of Boebert & it didn't work!

Live in a small town, just heard over the weekend that 3 people from one class died, these folks were around 50 years old. 2 women had cancer that rapidly killed them, & the 3rd died suddenly in his truck. Cannot be a coincidence!

I work for an accounting firm and last year we had to ask everyone if they received EIP #3 (stimulus payment that was $1,400/person).

95% could not remember and most of them said no, they never got it. After a couple returns were rejected we started asking people to go check their bank accounts from March 2020 to verify & 0 clients out of about 500 didn't receive the money.

One guy said he didn't get it, return rejected so we had him check on irs.gov & they said they'd sent it. Dude found his $1,400 check in his BATHROOM of all places and cashed it in April of 2022.

I've even had clients call & ask if they filed last year....like they forgot whether or not they filed a tax return....

I hear you, live in bizarro world for sure! I'd thought we were red out here but believe half the clients are jabbed. My boss and his wife have been jabbed 4 times and he was a brilliant man with a masters degree in accounting and financial planning. These days it's a miracle if he can make it through 1 item on his to-do list which gets bigger but never smaller.

It's a shitshow and the dumbing down of Americans was a rapid success from my POV.

Appreciate this weekly post, thank you!

My nephew is the same with the Yoda video, he sings the song to me as often as possible! I also think it's hysterical but his giggling makes it 100% funnier!

Not the first time with Griswold unfortunately. Our elections are just as corrupt as the swing states!

Good point, I stand corrected.

They already walked that back & the old rules will remain for tax year 2022. I agree with sentiment, but if anyone was concerned about getting a 1009-K, check the IRS site as they updated on this either last week or this week!

Very intelligent response by Clot, what an academic response to criticism! /s

I think debate is good & healthy, it makes you think & discern. The people of this country NEED to think & discern instead of blindly following what someone else says. We don't have to be jerks to each other, debates can be held between 2 people with the same or similar views or beliefs.

Of course, we need go discuss, share observations and make each other think before we make any decisions. We can't vote for the speaker, but we can form opinions and make our voices heard! Happy to have the conversations, in fact I miss having logical conversations & debates!

Very good point! I remember seeing videos of him at the height of the covid lockdowns where he was debating with the other folks in Congress about how the rules are killing small businesses & how they are tone deaf to what the American people are struggling with.
I recall videos of him speaking out against CRT, mandating EVs & other batshit crazy "issues" our government has dabbled in. He speaks his mind and doesn't seem to follow the crowd especially at the height of the lockdowns. I can find some newer videos but haven't found the ones that made me recognize his name because it's all videos of today. I don't know how he has voted or specifics about him but I know I've never shaken my head in disgust when I've heard him speak, I've felt like he gets it and isn't there to get rich. If I wasn't at work, I'd dig up some of those videos but they are out there.

Very outspoken conservative from Florida I believe, tons of clips on YouTube of him speaking like a a rational human being so he is basically the opposite of a politician. I want to say he is a truck driver but not sure why I think that. Worth looking him up, I like this guy for Speaker, he is surely the anti-Pelosi!

Bahahahahaha Ginger powers are a good thing as long as said Ginger is aware of them and knows how to use them. I'd say I'm about 75/25 on that front, old enough to know better and young enough to not care! I am not quite at the point of preparing returns yet. I work for a very OC man who we like to call a democratic socialist. He kisses the ground the IRS walks on and generally wants his preparers to never make mistakes and never get creative with preparing returns. It's difficult to learn because I came from a place of doing everything myself and now I have to have every single keystroke reviewed and re-reviewed because he doesn't want ANY mistakes going out the door. I'm thrilled to be learning from a highly intelligent person and to learn the correct way, but since I didn't come in with years of return preparing experience, he holds me back from learning!
I'd love some remote work, but I'd probably be better at the data entry prep, entering tax doc info and client info; I wouldn't be as much help with tax return preparation because the current teacher won't teach!
I almost started the EA training but realized I'd never get to the hands on part working here! I do the bookkeeping and all of the cleanups of books for small businesses, that keeps me busy but I'd take some remote work doing that even if I could find it!
