So all faithful English translations are on a spectrum(gosh I hate using that word now that liberals have ruined it) of readability on one side and precision on the other.
Some more readable versions include the NIV, the NLT, and the HCSB. The more precise ones include the ESV, NASB, NKJV, and NET.
I like the ESV for every day reading and I like the NET for study because the NET has copious translation notes about why the translators made the language choices they did.
