If she goes broody she should hatch them out if you put fertilized eggs under her. Not sure about integrating chicks,I've never done it. Otherwise get an incubator. Only reason I want more chickens is my girls are getting old now,oh and I give the eggs to the pensioners in town.

Some Silkies,Buff Orpington,Isa Browns and Wyandotte. I had a hen hatch a few out and then we had a really bad thunderstorm and she got off the eggs. A friend's hen did the same. Thought I'd have a try at hatching in an incubator.

Quokkas are from my home state. Just have to catch a ferry to the island to see them.

A friend has a pet kangaroo. Found it in the pouch of it's deceased mother and raised it from a joey. She's pretty cute.

Nature is quite amazing. It's out. A few other eggs have pipped.

Keep him. He's attached himself to you by the look of that photo. It'll be very upsetting for him to relocate again. He'll repay you 10 fold with his loyalty. Says the person with 6 dogs and probably the wrong person to have read your post lol. Bless you for taking him.

My daughter at the airport waiting for her connecting flight as she is flying out to Texas this afternoon. Two planes already ,another connecting flight and finally she be on her way. Her husband and her are taking his daughter for a trip to see the grandparents. Very exciting for a 6 yr old. I've been stirring her up all morning about the cold weather there as they're sitting in the airport here in t-shirts.

One more week to go and my chicks should start hatching out in the incubator. I swear it's worse than watching grass grow. Waiting waiting.

Hoping your Dad's cough clears soon. Try inhaling some eucalyptus oil. Mix a few drops in a bowl of boiling water and inhale the steam. Does wonders for coughs and clearing airways.

Get some pearl barley, boil it and strain the liquid and cool then drink what you've strained off. It'll will drop the child's temperature. An old doctor told me about it many years ago when when daughter constantly ran fevers with bouts of tonsillitis. Worked a treat. Hope you all feel better soon.

Duct tape doesn't even stick to it. Thought I'd try that just to see if my sticky tape was bad, nope duct tape won't stick either. So if you're doing last minute shopping for paper avoid the glitter stuff and the cursing and frustration.

I am never buying pretty Christmas glitter wrapping paper ever again. The sticky tape won't stick to it. Lucky I only bought it for one present or I'd be still trying to wrap presents at sun up.

Straw is warm for bedding if you can get some. I've got the opposite trying to keep them cool in the heat we have at the moment.

My daughter is flying to Texas a few days after Christmas. Its going to be a big shock to the system for her as she's never seen snow or experienced such cold weather and it's our summer here and we're expecting around 37celcius on Christmas day.
