If NJ were to flip then NY could also. I just don't want to predict a fantasy. But if Trump were to get 5+% spread in the national vote there might be voter bleed over into NJ/NY.

Very true. The Founders were quite liberal. Not FDR liberal, but liberal. Liberal enough to know individuals and families didn't want every aspect of their personal lives under the microscope. Thus the no quartering of soldiers in people's homes.

There is zero reason unless the election is razor thin not to know the winner at least by midnight. In 1980 and 84 it was called before 9pm. In 88 around 10:30. 1992 11 pm, 96 at 9pm. 2000 took a month + due to Florida. 2004 the next day due to Ohio. 2008 11 pm 2012 11pm. 2016 around 3pm depending on the network. 2020 days and days of counting illegal ballots.
If Trump wins the national vote the election should be called no later than midnight. If he's ahead by 3-5 no later than 10pm. This is getting out of hand.
