Laundering isn't the hard part in ransomware. You need something that isn't traceable.

Think about any ransom situation:

  • Ask for cash, now what? Cash has serial number, soon as you spend it you'll get arrested
  • Ask for a vehicle to escape, now what? that vehicle could have tracking, someone could follow you and so on.
  • Ask for a payment to your bank account, boom, your bank freeze your account.

Obviously you want to get paid without having to show your face, and you want your payment to be untraceable. Bitcoin, Monero and similar are the only things that fulfill those requirements.

The goblins on the east coast want to protect themselves.

While Trump wanted to buy Greenland to have US bases there for better defense, the goblins plan to invade Russia from Europe, and to do that they need a shitload of equipment and troops on standby in Europe.

China is only a threat financially, Russia is only a threat if provoked. The real enemy is in DC.

The real question is, why would they need almost 5000 employees in the first place. What where they all doing?

In a sane world a large exchange could be fully automatic and ran by about 10-20 people who manage everything from development, server administration to support.

Only this time it'll be a lot harder for them to force people into compliance.

Sadly people seems to be dumber today, so the goblins might get what they want in the end.

Possible, tho crypto millionaires are usually no threat to D's scam exchanges as they don't run their own exchanges. There seems to be regular people with large stashes who probably should have just stayed silent.

Maybe they had dirt on the Clinton's.

Could be the vaxx. Whacking them is of no use if you wanted to steal their stash. Tho when they die their stash will always remain where it is.
