Umm, voting isn’t in the Bible. Also, the Bible was written to ancient peoples whose paterfamilias had legal authority to even kill their adult children (Roman times). They could also legally kill their slaves, and could physically beat their wives as a means of discipline. Why? Because they were legally responsible for household members’ actions/torts. Compared to the household codes of the times, Paul’s instructions to families Nate a breath of fresh air. He is NOT reinforcing the paterfamilias’ legal rights over household members, but is steering the head of household to lay down power in service to others. Legal power of the paterfamilias was a fact of life and a part of Roman government. It wasn’t going away, and if Paul were to try to do away with it, the Romans would have seen it as subversive to the state. Thus, Paul tries to guide household members in how to treat each other within these structures. He is NOT saying that this is God’s natural order of authority. Otherwise we’d have to say that God is OK with slavery. And yes, slaveholders in the old south would appeal to Paul’s household codes and scripture twist to justify their oppression. They were wrong.
On that note, you realize that 19th century women’s rights (not the hippy crud but the ones that matter) went hand in hand with the abolition of slavery? First wave feminists were largely abolitionists. Many good Christian MEN were feminists/suffragists and relied on the Bible’s trajectory of mutual servant-hood freedom. The whole reason you can have a bank account or a credit card today without a male guardian to co-sign for you is because of this movement. Just because communists hijacked the whole thing doesn’t mean we should knee-jerk and throw out the good that God blessed us with. We need to win hearts and minds to Jesus. He brings real freedom and turns despots into servants.
That is a wonderful attitude to have in marriage! It’s teamwork! Neither a competition nor a master/slave relationship. You are equal, interdependent partners. I find it sad that in response to the insane liberalism is a conservative backlash that reminds me more of Middle Eastern gender relationships than the God-given partnership we were meant to have. We need positive examples like yours if we’re going to see healing in American families.
What sort of female friends are you keeping exactly? All my female friends and even in the ladies in my church vote conservatively and logically. Quite a few are engineers, even. I think you are grossly underestimating the number of logical women out there. Also I’ve met plenty of men that are emotional and illogical liberals. It really comes down to a brainwashing thing, not a gender thing.
I also grow tired of the stereotype that women are emotional drama queens with 24/7 PMS and therefore can’t think logically, while men are robotic Vulcans who only need women around for the occasional oil change and will only give them a fake simulated “love” in return. The stereotype is dehumanizing for both genders. Men feel emotion, too, and can become illogical too. Ironically the only one they’re allowed to feel according to gender stereotypes is anger. That one somehow doesn’t affect logical thinking? Funny, that.
Always remember, it wasn’t because women voted that we have legalized abortion nationwide. It was because of activist MALE judges on the Supreme Court, who all voted based on pure, communist logic.
If it’s really the case that she’s too far gone to make decisions for herself, then she’s too far gone to WORK like a SLAVE for her mooching family. Can’t have it both ways. Either they take care of her financially as well or else she can take care of herself.
Yup. Also, the reason it was so obvious the election was stolen is because there were so many eyes on the shenanigans, so many whistleblowers! Developing and manufacturing vaccines likewise involves a ton of people. It would be impossible to hide any deliberate shenanigans with the process. We should have had plenty of whistleblowers by now.
That’s awful! I’m so sorry! I too am vaccinated and I worry that one day I’ll find out something’s wrong with my heart, given all the heart side-effects coming out in the news. My heart already is a little enlarged and has a PFO. I don’t need the vaccine to add tons t.
As for what happened, I suspect surgeons themselves don’t have a choice in demanding their patients take the vaccine. The hospital they practice out of may very well require it. Very disconcerting!
I’m praying for you my friend! At least I hope your back feels better? Yeah I know. Small comfort. 😢
Thank you! If Trump is Q+ and we are supposed to trust the plan, how can we not trust Trump when he encourages vaccination as a good thing? It seems that both fear of COVID and fear of the vaccine are dividing patriots. Not what Q would want. Definitely not what God wants.
Wow I never knew that “right hand or forehead” in Greek could also mean “left or right shoulder”. 😆
But in all seriousness the mark of the beast doesn’t have to be physical. For example the people of God are marked on the forehead invisibly (in Ezekiel if I remember correctly). Any world system that requires worship be shown to the beast in order to buy or sell would spiritually mark the worshippers as belonging to the beast. Since receiving the vaccine does not require openly changing allegiance from Jesus to a false god, I don’t think it’s the mark of the beast.
Ok I’m gonna be straight with you. I’m fully vaccinated, and I love Jesus. The two are not mutually exclusive. I don’t blame anybody who doesn’t want to get vaccinated. It’s a hard decision to make either way, especially when medical information is being politically weaponized and censored. Nevertheless those of us who got vaccinated have our own reasons. I had to weigh the risk of getting COVID vs the risk of getting lethal side-effects from a vaccine. I have a lousy set of lungs and live with an elderly parent who also not only has a lousy set of lungs but also an autoimmune disease.
Given that either of us catching COVID could leave us with long term lung damage nor could even kill usb(especially with no access to HCQ etc. ), I had to take a gamble. I prayed for God’s protection. And you know what? Not me or anyone else I know who has had the shot has dropped dead or been hospitalized for it.
I hope to God you are wrong about it’s long term lethality. The thing is, I’m getting tired of people here and on Gab gleefully awaiting their vindication as they make their predictions of how long the vaccinated have to live. Ironically these individuals have conflicting reasons/medical data as to why the vaccinated will drop dead or be sterilized or fill-in-the-blank. Some of the reasons aren’t even remotely medically sound. So please stop scaring us unnecessarily. There’s already enough fear to go around.
Then why take the vaccine out of fear? It’s more to do with love for my parent than for my own life. But I also believe God ok with us taking medicine. Paul told Timothy to take some wine for his stomach. If this were any other vaccine you probably wouldn’t worry about your loved ones. For example, if someone you knew were taking a mission trip to some jungle you would expect them to take whatever jungle fever vaccines there were. Why is this so different, other than that it’s been politicized?
You are simply politicizing this from the opposite side, which causes further division. Is this what Q would want? More importantly, is this what God wants?
Geez! You know the past few years I’ve been trying to get a diagnosis for why one day I felt like a grizzly bear was chasing me and couldn’t sleep. My thyroid actually popped out of my neck around this time, but the dumb doctors just kept wanting to diagnose me as mental because my first blood test showed high free T4 and normal TSH and thereafter only high normal free T4. I had many intermittent symptoms of hyperthyroidism but I kept getting blown off. I even begged an endocrinologist to do an MRI in case I had a pituitary tumor. She refused and said I’d be dead by now if I had one. A year later a sweet nurse at the sleep disorder center who knew it sounded like my thyroid said you need something and put me on an antidepressant. I had been going through this a year and had tried everything but. It worked, but it took time. Then I found a good GP who kindly ran an MRI. Yes, I had a pituitary tumor. No, I wasn’t dead yet. Ironically some other specialist had put me on a medication that happens to shrink a certain kind of pituitary tumor. I think he accidentally cured me. Meanwhile I started seeing the specialists of specialists at UCLA. Went full circle back to my thyroid but my numbers are normal now. So still no diagnosis of what went wrong. Fun! A friend of mine swears I have Graves’ disease. My eyes were actually bugging out during that year of hell. So now I have to wait for another big flair up before anyone will look at me. If that nurse hadn’t put me on meds for the mental symptoms i don’t think I’d be here right now. Dumb doctors don’t even care. Oh they offered the meds but it was always in a dismissive way to make me leave. That nurse saved my life by believing me and doing her best to keep me going until I could find a doctor who could diagnose me. Still looking for that mythical doctor. Oh well.
But yeah when it’s right in front of their faces (hello thyroid popping out of my neck) doctors can’t find their heads from their tails. It’s rather scary.
