These idiots are going to have to learn how to host their own hardware in a collocation. The cloud is just running your software on other people's hardware. There is nothing at all special about it.
How is that dependence on the cloud working out for you, Parler? That goes for all the others having problems now as well.
Just another part of the awakening, i guess. The cloud, along with most of big tech, was a really bad idea. Now people are seeing that for themselves.
As far as I know, they own and operate on their own infrastructure. They did this to keep their platform from falling like Parler. They don't have anyone to answer to, in turn, thats the reason they've been slow as of late. All the influx of new users who migrated from twitter has cause a slowdown on their website.
That is the one problem with running your own hardware in a collocation - no elasticity. You have to manually expand your infrastructure to meet increased demand. However, it is possible to do that relatively quickly if you know what you are doing...
any business - no matter what kind of business it is - if in anyway it has a perception of being conservative-oriented, pro-Trump oriented, will find themselves in the same situation as Parler if they are using the Big Tech cloud vendors for hosting

Currently, it's working for me through my desktop and cell phone. It may not be up by tomorrow though.

Because they don't have 'censorship practices' in place like twitter etc; Apple store got rid of them yesterday (or today, I don't remember off the top of my head).
Amazon's AWS servers were hosting Parler, so it's not really a surprise they were going to get the boot.

I'm not sure. Last I read, Amazon was suppose to have shut them down at 12pm pacific on Monday. Again, I've read a lot of posts so I may be wrong but I think that's what I remember reading earlier in the morning.
They said they made sure not to use AWS proprietary API.
I'm not a programmer but I'm sure with enough $ and experienced software engineers, it could be done.

Even Parler is faster than them at the moment, but when it goes down for good in a few hours then there'll probably be more of a stampede to Gab. Not much point going there at the moment though. ;(

I actually prefer GAB but their servers are getting hit SUPER hard right now. It's hard to even load in. I think their whole system is down atm.
As soon as twitter shat the bed, GAB slowed down quite a bit.
They have their own hosting. It was working fine (fast) when I checked it a few hours ago. Now it's a bit slow, probably because of the influx of people. Keep going there, it will get better over time when they can improve their infrastructure!

There are plenty of hosts in other countries that would host them. It may cost more, but it is easily doable.
