Unfortunately, the idea of the rich elite being child raping satanists is too farfetched for the normie liberals to believe, but stealing investments directly from Stonks affects everyone directly and much more believable in the eyes of normies.
It's not indifference to the suffering of children or the murder of our military heroes. It's lack of belief. People can see and believe the stock market manipulation in this case. Most people don't believe the rich elite are child-raping satanists or that they killed Seal Team 6. If they believed these things were true, they would be disgusted, horrified, and outraged. But most people don't believe these things. They have either never heard of them or think they're just some nutty conspiracy theories.
In the end, people tend to believe what they want to believe despite evidence to the contrary. Why are so many so quick to believe Russian collusion and so slow to believe Biden Ukraine and China crimes? Maybe what they want to believe is that the world is as MSM says it is — because they don’t want to believe they’ve been deceived since Day 1. That means a lot of what they’ve built their lives on might be false.
Unwilling suspension of disbelief?
Thata what is called original sin.. It's not sad, it's our nature.
We can only hope to break the programming, Fren.
We're talking about two different things here, baseline self interest is good, because it more accurately solves societal problems. There's a better chance you know what you want to do than me trying to think on your behalf, that's ever the problem with socialism, doing things on behalf of others ends up doing everything badly save for those at the top.
Baseline self interest is different from acknowledging your country is going to be gone in 50 years and saying "Oh well I got my speedboat out of it, fuck it lol". That's pathological indifference.
Ethnocentrism likewise is not racism, the muddling of these things into one makes it easier for people to misrepresent it in arguments and sink the issue back into the mud.
Where do you think we came from? Im a kickboxer about to get his masters in a liberal arts school.
I read your words like you were yelling at me ?
So I do agree with most of what you are saying. Except I don’t believe Obama was “elected” in the second term. No way people voted for him after everything he did and now we know how they rig it.
They've probably been using their election fraud techniques for decades
Well, they voted for Obama once (on the heels of a very conveniently-placed economic bubble of gasoline prices and real estate)...
... the second time BO probably cheated...
But back to our regularly-scheduled program (discussion).
lol.... Where have you been for fucking months?
That filthy Kenyan wasn't elected to anything.
"normie liberals" really needs to be "Lead fuel poisoned boomers" because that's what the obstacle is. I've legitimately seen more concern for child abuse from liberals because half of them were abused growing up. Typically boomer white Christian evangelicals had the entire issue put to rest when the media was still held as a foundational pillar of society, they called it the "Satanic Panic" and was something to be chuckled at, and a minor psychiatric interest field for "false memories" beyond that.
I have a bunch of high school friends who support the left. We were a tight group with very similar ideals. The biggest difference between us is they went to college where I got married and started a family right away. I felt the weight of Obama's presidency in every aspect of my life while they were in school. I'm the only one who is awake out of the 10 of us.
