And the part where Trump uses EO 13848 to seize the assets of even a handful of these satanic, totalitarian, globalist companies like txitter, zuckbook, Xpple, etc and distributes their ill-gotten gains back to We The People????
Sales tax, not income tax. Too many loopholes in income tax for rich people and corporations. But everybody spends money, the more you spend the more sales tax you'll pay. Of course there has to be some kind of break for the lowest income people.
And I'm not hating on rich people, we need rich people. When is the last time a poor person offered you a job?
Taxation was meant to be indirect taxation...on things other than necessities and definitely NOT on income or property (direct taxation--unconstitutional). Also, like President Trump, the early Presidents used tariffs and did quite well for their expenses. Another thing to remember, government at ALL levels is hugely bloated and MUST be drastically shrunk. Those people need to get real jobs, not being parasites on those who work.
Great Point. Which is why I argue for a Flat Tax across the board (by percentage of course), with some reliefs for certain considerations, such as unemployment due to illness or injury, NOT Refusal to Work.
The whiskey tax was a failure after some years of outright rebellion by many Americans. It was repealed under Jefferson in 1802 as being almost impossible to collect. Interesting that since that time, Americans have submitted to unlawful taxation in all of its forms. This is what happens when we do not know our rights, the supreme law of this land and the absolute limitations of our public servants at all levels.
I think that most people will agree that "chipping in" in one's local town for rightful expenses makes sense and I'd suggest that this would carry over to the feds and the state. However, the taxation that exists now is not much more than an outright money-grab that's very wrongly spent with no real accountability. Every single expense that a town/state has must to be viewed microscopically and except for true bare-bones expenses, eliminated. This must be done.
I mean even fucking Wikipedia can answer that question -
The independent nation collected taxes on imports ("tariffs"), whiskey, and (for a while) on glass windows. States and localities collected poll taxes on voters and property taxes on land and commercial buildings. In addition, there were the state and federal excise taxes
Taxing luxury items and property/land value. It naturally weights it towards the wealthy and is based off of consumption.
Edit: Disagree with the downvotes, it's a good question. I understand this isn't a complete answer. I see more value in educating people and then letting them decide how to spend their money more than holding hands through tax fed government funded programs.
Might have to lower our standing of living for a bit as we are either living beyond our means (in terms of govt provided services) or being overcharged for what we use. Or both.
Not funded that way. Watch this 15 min video explaining government CAFRs - Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports. It’s a shell game designed to hide in - plain view - the value of assets, while exploiting the public willingness to add more money to “the BUDGET.”
Walter Burien has examined CAFRs nationwide and estimates there’s at least 60 trillion on the books.
From state taxes. Fed government doesn’t build shit. Private companies do. States can fund what they want. Fed taxes are bullshit, wedged in under the guise of taxing only the rich. The country ran just fine before the irs.
Tariffs succeeded prior to IRS and basically created a consumption tax. We are a United group of individual counties, under a common goal.
Imagine believing income tax revenue goes to services for us instead of just to pay interest on the artificially created federal debt. LOL nobody is that stupid.
If these expenses (roads, parks, libraries, police) are valid, I'd suggest that they must be presented as ONE budget each so that those who are being financially raped can see JUST where their hard-earned money is going. There is no such accountability. The unaccountability in my town is ridiculous and STILL the people say nothing. The people also need to decide just how roads will be replaced or maintained--who will be the entity that addresses this? Remember, the further away the public servants are, the more they will get away with.
Can we just hurry up and get to the part where we don't have to pay income taxes anymore.

????⚡️
I literally laughed out loud at this one because this is exactly how I feel.
There is no law requiring you to pay income tax. But try getting away with it.
Could I technically get away with it if I’m not a citizen of the UNITED STATES CORP?

State and local taxes pay for those things. The ONLY thing we should pay for is our military at a federal level. Periodt.
How did they get it for the first 100+ years the country was formed and there was no income tax?
Tariffs.
Tax on trade and whiskey.

We didn't pay income taxes until 1913.
Tariffs! It's why he fought a tariff war. It's how we did it before income tax which didn't come along until 1913. Is not impossible!
Property taxes and sales taxes.

A property tax is nothing more than renting your land from the government. Property tax is wrong and violates the right to private property
