I think it might be because they need to save that evidence for the criminal trials. The US recognizes no double jeopardy in court so if they use that evidence now they cant use it for when it actually matters. I think trump will be succeasfully convicted today only because we already know and saw on day 1 they will change the rules right infront of us live like they did in the election. I agree but what if the SCOTUS punts the cases again? Now they won't have another chance as it stands right now just looking from all sides,.
