This meme may have just inadvertently solved America's problem. Build a wall around those places and declare them as hostile nations.

As someone who lives near Detroit I want to add an edit to this graphic. Detroit does not have any additional gun laws than the state of Michigan does which is a shall issue state for CPL's and is also an open carry state.
Liberal policies and loss of manufacturing jobs have devastated the city and there is a lot of poverty.
There is another common denominator with those cities besides gun laws - you are right, it is poverty which is also a reflection of local culture which esteems violence as gang activity is glorified.
Which stems from rampant election fraud and CIA tampering over generations. Malcolm X was real.
Poverty is not statistically connected to gun violence.
Whenever I see these poorly-produced "memes" with exploitative/sensational images and crappy spelling/formatting, I assume they're based on false or misleading info until proven otherwise. For example, if you rank countries here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate by homicide per 100k, the US is ranked 18th behind much of South/Central America and Africa.

Total of cities 1314
What is interesting, only .02% are from mass shootings. That would be 2.79 people a year. If I have all my info and math correct. Let me know what or if im missing something.

The graphic needs to be a bit more accurate. I'm from Chicago and Chicago is very safe as far as most of the city goes. The only part of Chicago you need to stay the fuck out is the South Side. That's where the shootings happen on the daily.
Growing up, I remember watching the news and there's always a black person or a gang member (of course black) involved in a shooting and it'd be in the South Side. Occasionally I'd hear news about a shooting in the suburbs or outside of South Side but that's like once in a blue moon.
So it should say, "South Side (Chicago)". I even had an aunt who lived in Chicago her whole life and she was this fragile lady, walking to the store to get food, using public transportation and such. I thought it was dangerous for her to live out there but she said it's safe where she lives, as long as she don't go to the South Side.
That ain’t all they have.

Remove these cities and it would drop America dramatically, but we're nowhere near #3 today, and wouldn't be #189 with these cities subtracted.
