Wow, so I saw what looked like some kind of protest but it was just forming up/couldn't really tell what was up, lots of Asians though. I asked a girl if they were protesting and she said the Burma election stuff (she did say "Burma" not "Myanmar"). Ahhhh. Naturally, on the side of the "coup" victims, not the military.
I listened to her spiel and told her I know what's going on over there, good luck, and then "the cheaters didn't actually win - the same thing happened here" and made my exit.
I think Burma is Myanmar.
Correct
This is false OP
Everyone can read about the name and how it's really used. Burmese people themselves use either name or both depending on what region of Burma they're from, or some regions use Burma in everyday speech and Myanmar in official communications. Read up on it.
Burma is the English word for Myanmar, like Hungary for Magyarorzag

Myanmar, also called Burma, country, located in the western portion of mainland Southeast Asia. In 1989 the country’s official English name, which it had held since 1885, was changed from the Union of Burma to the Union of Myanmar; in the Burmese language the country has been known as Myanma (or, more precisely, Mranma Prañ) since the 13th century. The English name of the city that served as the country’s capital from 1948 to 2006, Rangoon, also was dropped in 1989 in favour of the common Burmese name, Yangon. - Britannica
I was reading somewhere that people living there weren’t entirely opposed to the military dulling because the prior dictator was a cuck or something and ultimately I think it’s optics They media doesn’t want you to think it’s a good thing so if it starts happening here they have already set the narrative about how military bad people unhappy.
