That sounds untrue but I have been wrong. This and many of the black eyes we’ve seen are much more akin to black eyes from punches. I could see maybe a punishment from their superiors, or marks of dead men walking, or even wives learning about the blackmail against them, something like that. Black eyes are not that easy to get for a normal person. This is a bit weird and it certainly is weirder that all of these publicly evil people seem to constantly get injured (like Biden and his bizarre dog story).
