I don't want to take too much of your time, but if you believe in the power of prayer, please say one for my Pops because he can use them. Long story short he and I were fighting for a while about Q and Trump. It was at the point where I couldnt even talk to him anymore when one day about a month ago my brother found him in his apartment unresponsive and rolling in his own excrement. It has been a long road, and we are hoping for improvement, but we are not seeing much and each day is getting harder. He is aware and conscious, but cognitively speaking he is... I know some of you have probably gone through similar situations in one way or another. Please say a prayer for my pops, and if you are fighting with yours. Your mother, brother, sister, cousin whoever. It isn't worth it and I pray for you and your relationships. I really hope this all happens soon so we can start to heal from all this pain..

Heavenly Father, please send health & healing to Xpat's Pops. Give the doctors wisdom & discernment to know what to do for him & let his body respond. Bless Xpat & Pops with reconciliation and forgiveness that their relationship be mended and stronger than ever. Give them the faith to accept the grace that they may have their names written in the lamb's book of life. Please hear the prayers of this man and come to him in his time of need. Bestow your healing grace upon him so that he may regain his strength. Please grant him time for the hearts of this family to unite and heal. Your power is infinite, your mercy is unending. May God bless and keep you, your pops and family. Also, sometimes when there are disagreements, it’s because that person may not be feeling well. But no one knows it - not even the unwell person - until there is a health related crisis. I can tell you dearly love your pops, and I’m sure he knows it!

Aw, Man. Happened to my grandpa best thing to do is be patient sometimes it’s not as bad as you think and I think that they appreciate it sometimes my gma would snap at my gpa and seemed like it only made it worse faster.
Alzheimer’s / dementia. I don’t think there is much of a difference I can’t recall if there was a stroke or anything like that but he just began checking out almost like he would be there but not really there and then would slowly have trouble speaking he could talk coherently but would struggle and you’d have to be really patient and I felt bad because I think even he knew he was on the way out and was conscious of being less present and having trouble speaking so when he was trying to talk and having trouble and people would talk about him right in front of him like oh yeah he’s having a lot of trouble it just felt bogus because if you were patient he could still talk so I think the fact people were just like not really being compassionate I guess made it worse because it’s like what do you have to live for if you’re loosing grip and right in-front of you people are talking about how you’re senile I mean what’s left to fight for at that point and eventually couldn’t even really stand up or change clothes without help fucking wrecked me cause he was a really great guy and the way my family was acting made me really resentful too.
My grandmother had Alzheimers. It was so hard watching her go through it. We had quite a few family fights over people treating her like an object. Its stressful on everyone. even after she passed, the family still is divided over some of those fights. I pray for anyone going through this.
Yeah, No problems after the fact but it was frustrating at the time. Thankfully my grandma is in overall good shape it was really unexpected for my grandpa.
