One thing that makes this more likely is just how incoherent this post is without some sort of signal behind it. Wtf does freedom fries have to do with cancel culture? Almost seems like she just had to get out a message with a certain letter scheme and had to make it fit.
Agreed. And how many people even know what freedom fries was referencing. I only remembered when another poster explained. There are certainly more logical ways to refer to the gop.
Yeah I guess the comparison is pretty weak. One would think she'd have better communication protocols than something that could be decoded so easily though
Freedom Fries was a response by George Dubstep Bush to French resistance to the US looking for support in their 'coalition of the willing' as Dubya called it. The Iraqi invasion for WMDs didn't have UN support and several nations didn't support the idea so Dubs made a coalition.
"You're either with us or you're with the terrorists" was his mantra. Because those cheese eating Frenchies said no to Dubs there was talk about having French Fries changed to Freedom Fries.
That's what dirty Hilldog is referencing (irrespective of coded messaging).
Yeah. At the time it was considered laughable and Dubya was made to look petulant for the association. Attempting to rename one of the world's most popular foods was never going to end well.
Though you could try your luck renaming it in 2021 and you got a 50/50 shot.
"The fries are a reminder of French colonial oppression of the Vietnamese people and should be renamed. I may be a white bearded soyboy but I identify as a Vietnamese girl. Make it happen, bigots!".
From what I remember at the time, it was just the Pentagon cafeteria that made the change to freedom fries and fake news made it seem like it was happening all over.
Exactly. That and every other fake attack ever pushed: London bombing, Bataclan attack, the Christchurch mosque attack. If there’s ever a time to accept it and deal with it, it’s now.
Not many know of the B-Thing artists who worked inside the World Trade Center on the 91 first floor, in the years leading up to the bombing. They produced artistic videos of dummies being thrown out the window. You may’ve seen some of their videos repurposed and used on 9/11. You can see too in their pictures that the 91st floor was empty and abandoned, in the very place we were told companies existed for years.
The NY Times ran an article about these "artists" a few weeks before 9/11. The article asserted that by removing ONE window of the skyscraper, they were threatening the structural integrity of the ENTIRE building.
They were prepping their readers to expect the (secretly controlled) demolition of the towers as the inevitable result of the plane strikes.
Both are retarded though let's be honest. Oh we don't like the French so we don't even wanna use the word "French"? That's like renaming the Redskins to me... pointless
I forgot Bush tried to push the whole freedom fries thing. That happened when I was in 9th grade.... so 2002. It was right after 9/11. I remember making fun of it at lunch time while eating fries lol
So I remember the freedom fries thing as well (around the same age back then) but looking into it now, it seems that Mike Lee was the one who was really pushing it.
I don't even know who that is. I was 14 and barely knew anything about politics... but even back then I didn't believe the official 9/11 story, and I thought Bush was a moron lol
I assume her logic is that Freedom Fries is an aspect of cancel culture. As they were canceling "French Fries". None the less, odd message to throw out there, especially today of all days. Some people who have just turned voting age, hadn't even been born when the Freedom Fries fiasco was taking place. As in, it was 18 years ago, last month.

This.
You also don't know how Republicans changed "French fries" to "freedom fries" for... reasons?
Do your research.
Yeah, but "freedom fries" hasn't been a thing since, like, 2003.
Dredging up "freedom fries" after 18 years? Doesn't make sense.
Agreed. And how many people even know what freedom fries was referencing. I only remembered when another poster explained. There are certainly more logical ways to refer to the gop.

It could totally happen
It was on the menu in the congressional cafeteria.
So it's like the left saying we all "melted down" over obama wearing a tan suit and eating mustard? That's like the best and only thing they got.
From what I remember at the time, it was just the Pentagon cafeteria that made the change to freedom fries and fake news made it seem like it was happening all over.
Yep. freedom fries or pom fritz both work for me
So they cancelled it and now they're complaining about "cancel culture".
Charlie Hebdo shooting was a False Flag, fake as Ashli Babbitt blood spurts.
Exactly. That and every other fake attack ever pushed: London bombing, Bataclan attack, the Christchurch mosque attack. If there’s ever a time to accept it and deal with it, it’s now.

Yeah, I didn’t come across the B-Thing artists until maybe 2-3 yrs ago!
Because conservatives “cancelled” French fries and started calling them freedom fries when they were pissed off a France several years ago.
Kek. That is such a terrible comparison to cancel culture.
Both are retarded though let's be honest. Oh we don't like the French so we don't even wanna use the word "French"? That's like renaming the Redskins to me... pointless

That's a blast from the past.
Wow same, I remember being in a spanish 2 class when 9/11 happened and then the whole freedom foods ordeal following the French fallout.
It definitely hits different knowing what I do now, you're spot on.

Seems like I was way ahead of many adults hahaha
Yeah, a real blast

Exactly. Remember, this is the woman that tried the “Pokémon Go to the polls.” Stunt.
