So I never got into the George News thing, to be honest, but I read loads of stuff today, so I figured I would take a look into it.

  1. george.news PREVIOUSLY georgenews.org (put in URL address bar, it will redirect you don't worry). If you do a select all text for copy and pasta you will see the words in the bottom left corner "GEORGE NEWS ORG 2021 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED". So I took a chance and tried georgenews.org. It works.

  2. Go put in georgenews.org in wayback machine. https://web.archive.org/web/20190501000000*/georgenews.org

Click 23rd June 2019, (that's the earliest entry).

  1. They put a 301 redirect on to paper.li see below ....

Loading...

http://georgenews.org/ | 06:08:03 June 23, 2019

Got an HTTP 301 response at crawl time

Redirecting to...

https://web.archive.org/web/20190512090955/https://paper.li/e-1540146182#/

  1. WHY? Why not redirect to www.george.news ???

  2. I am not sure where I am going with this but ....

a) no privacy policy on george.news (that I could easily find). b) no t's and c's / terms of use to easily find. Normally found in the footer at the bottom of the page c) no 'typical' cookie message - I hate them so don't use them, but a major news brand probably should???

I don't believe a genuine news organisation would leave out the above 3 bits of info.

  1. What is this URL https://paper.li/GEORGE#/ is paper.li loading George news into an <iframe>?
